Matthews
Tavares
Mrazek
Mikheyev
Kase

have all been injured.

Leafs have had horrid shooting luck most of the year and their shooting percentage is as far below where it should be as their save percentage is above it.

After last night, it seems they've finally come back to "even" in the luck department:

I’ll bet your really professor Julius Sommer Miller disguised as Zeke

. Here's what you said for full transparency, and you can educate me how I misread where you said they were good.
Wow so I supposed to say they were a good team before expressing any other thoughts? Lesson learned. I guess saying things were "going great" but that they could come back to earth " a bit" was a total slap in the face to them.

In every single one of your posts regarding this team, your attempt to discredit them for everything. They're in 1st place overall playing excellent team hockey and you can't even say one good thing about them lmao.
Currently 5th but certainly on their way to first.
NHL Hockey Standings

I wonder at what point the games played difference will start to even out?

You're implying things pretty clearly. They just need to go through a covid outbreak and multiple consistent long-term injuries to their key players for their record to be legitimate.

You're implying things pretty clearly. Everything "going great" was meant towards their good fortunes and health... let's not beat around the bush. It had nothing to do with the quality of their team.

Leaf's record to date is very legitimate. They've played well. But it will be interesting to see how they react when real adversity strikes them. That's all.

N0pe! I remember we had a thread here saying... "no way Leafs miss the playoffs" and then the 18 wheeler went of the cliff.

Learning from experience I prefer not jinxing the buds. One day at a time no need to piss off the hockey gods.

I'll balance you out, this team is guaranteed to win a cup this year and there is literally nothing that can possibly happen that will prevent this.

You are really stretching to try and justify your points. Whatever.

I'm really not stretching, you know what you're implying and trying to do and it's just sad to be quite honest with you. Sad that someone takes time out of their day to go on a hockey discussion board, go to a rival teams board and try downplaying their success. You mention that we're lucky to be healthy and act like you're not biased yet you haven't mentioned how well the guys are playing.

Tell me about how Tavares/Nylander/Marner/Matthews are playing. Show us your unbiased opinion. If you want to discuss leafs let's talk about how structured they are playing and how they're playing defense at a very high, while still producing points at an elite level.

You mean like the adversity of being last in shooting percentage and not having Matthews in the lineup? The adversity this team went through by being 2-4-1 to start the year, and had many people say we were gonna miss the playoffs, we should rebuild, etc etc?

But yeah I'm sure this team will go through another tough patch. Most teams do.

I've always said I think Matthews is a great player. He is the Leaf's leader. Marner is close behind. I think Tavares is overrated. I am surprised how well Campbell is playing; I thought he would be good but not this good. And I think the team has learned from their past failures and are playing a much better defensive game. It bodes well for future playoff success.

Real adversity like the Penguins not having Malkin and Crosby for the first 12 games of the season or the Habs not having Carey Price or Shea Weber playing at all. And the Leafs losing Tavares against the Habs in the playoffs.

22 points in his last 16 games, reason I use 16 games as a measuring stick that's right after the ass whoopings we were handed by Pitts/Car that had our entire board melting down. Tavares is the Leafs leader hands down, and he's been the 1C. Definitely not over rated. He's been elite on both ends of the ice, but his defensive game has been phenomenal this year along with faceoffs.

Matthews/Marner are definitely great players, but not the 1/2 leaders for sure. Leaders of this team are Tavares/Rielly/Spezza, Matthews/Marner rotate the A but it's clear JT is the head. It will be Matthews at some point, but just a lot of good veteran guys on the roster.

Weird that there's an advantage to having your elite players under the age of 25 instead of in their mid 30s.

this team is at peak confidence levels now. Hoping this translates to the postseason - we can go 82-0 and still drop out of the first round running into another Georges Vezina/Carey Price. This team needs resilience in the middle of a storm
