MAPLE LEAFS | 2 | 17-6-1 |
The common refrain about this Maple Leafs team, "Wait and see what they can do in the playoffs." I hate that dismissal of regular season success. They rolling right now, and fans are supposed to sit on their hands for 82 games? Toronto is an incredibly fun team. It's OK to enjoy the journey to the postseason. |
It's also ok to be skeptical without being called an idiot or not a true fan.[TBODY] [/TBODY]

Why is it that if you're enjoying the season and the team so much you have to,convince others to do the same?
Well, you are that guy - so wear it and own it if you say it. And no one can do anything bout "playoffs" in November. You can't win a series now.
The other 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times "only the playoffs matter" has been said was enough, thank you.
60ish games still leftShout out to Kadri not getting suspended for anything last night.
What adversity are they currently going through?
It's also ok to be skeptical without being called an idiot or not a true fan.

I dont care about skepticism but being dismissive is akin to being a perpetual stone in a shoe. It's also ok to be skeptical without being called an idiot or not a true fan.

I got a 1 month ban from the Avs forum for responding with a harmless jab to that 8-3 Avs prediction. I simply just said “You were so close chief!“ The poster actually liked my post.
The double standard is ridiculous.
"Wait for the playoffs" is a pointless statement because every single Leaf fan is waiting for the playoffs. We all know what happened last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.
It's just that 99% of us are also able to take an interest in the team right now.

I also think very few people care who the Presidents trophy winner is too.
You may be right, but personally I'd really like to see us win it.
Great presser by Landeskog. Seems like a solid leader
I read a few posts on the mainboards about us. Seems there are some fans that are trying to put the regular season means nothing, squarely on us. Some tidbits i remember reading, "The reg season doesn't matter to THEM." "The reg season doesn't matter to Toronto." Is this another label we are about to earn? The idea that the regular season is entirely meaningless is either wrong or pretty massive criticism of how north american sports are organized - i.e. 90% of the games played every year are meanigless.
Yes and that's why many are skeptical about regular season results.
