Guessing they will probably try to intimidate the Leafs rather than out shinny them.
Yep, this could get ugly. Watching them play last night it was hard not to think the Leafs aren't anywhere close their intensity. I find I think that watching a lot of other teams play.
Need to get ahead early and let Florida chase the game. If the Leafs try and out dirty them, it'll be a long night.

*** Someone needs to fire up a proper GDT. Seems like there hasn't been one for a while.

It's a regular season game in November. I doubt that Florida will play with much intensity at all.
It was November last night.

They were intense when they beat McDavid last week. Sounds like they were last night. No idea what they bring tonight. Your statement pretty much tells us that most regular season games do not mean much. This is a 4 point game.

No but even the average fan can see that they aren't playing very well regardless of their record.
Totally agree! I was not impressed with their two games in Sweden. They were the rested team in both games, yet barely managed to win them. This team is middle of the pack at best.

They played last night and won in a rout in a more emotional game because their best player was playing against his brother. Teams can't do that every night in the regular season. I don't think Florida is going to just skate in circles tonight, but this is not the 1970s Flyers.

its not intensity as much as it is after the whistle cheap shots and pokes... often done to get a reaction, and draw a penalty, and just get the other team off their game. They are also a little on the dirty side, ala some Boston players.
its not 70's hockey, but they play more like a 90's team which had a lot of cheapness and grabbing/obstruction (which ref's seem to have forgotten is a penalty).

here is my preference

Knies-Matthews-Jankrok
Bertuzzi-Tavares-Nylander
Robertson-Domi-Marner

run the three lines with about the same TOI and do not tire out you core guys especially Marner

BUT if they want to play the "Core 4" in the top 2 lines then IMO it would be better if. they ran....

Jankrok-Matthews-Nylander
Bertuzzi-Tavares-Marner
Knies-Domi-Robertson

reason: Get Knies away from top QoC and let him learn the game and the grind of regular season with relatively easier match-ups. Knies-Domi also had chemistry going; with Domi-Robertson also showing chemistry; IMO that 3rd line would be a handful for opposition
Agreed with reasoning but i would like to see robertson tavares knies

I happened to watch a bit of Overdrive yesterday and everyone agreed with O'Dog when he said "this is not a serious team" and that says it all really.

I think back to what Patrick Mahomes said a few weeks ago - "if I play better, everyone will play better". He's basically saying the buck stops here, the nonsense stops now, I will lead the way and I know my team will follow me. I wish we had a leader like that but sadly, that is not the case.
Amen!

I wouldn't mind seeing Robertson sit a game and get McMann in hungry.
The team is lacking in bite, and i think Bobby can bring a bit of that to the team.

Say what you will about his methods but babs knew what he was doing he wanted to make them compete against each other on other lines and push the team that way keefe let them get comfortable
I hated Babs for what he did in the end, but you are right about him wanting to get the best out of M&M. Seems like Shanahan didn't want this tough love approach. Again, I'm not defending Babcock. He deserves to be out of the league after what he did here, and then in Columbus.

I would absolutely run Matthew Tkchuk or Bennett in the first 5 mins. They are going to come in tired and sore.

Make it hurt Leafs

Did you even watch any of their game last night against the sens?
I did. I watched them play a terrible Ottawa team that gave Florida absolutely zero trouble the whole night in terms of actually winning the game. A bunch of guys getting misconduct penalties is meaningless. But wait, maybe Ottawa is more serious because they shoved guys after a whistle?

It's not fun being a GTA sports fan lately. Leafs are mid, Raps a treadmill directionless team, Jays are the biggest disappointment in all of baseball, the Bills are .500 and will likely miss the playoffs and the Argos and TFC aren't even worth discussing.

What makes you think this team will run anyone? This team just sucks the emotion out of every game. It’s tough to watch at times how passive this team is.
I think that's what they mean about not taking things seriously enough.
