Definitely Marner has not had the best start, but Matthews has14 goals in 19 games.
Yes he does, playing st 80% and giving away pucks in his own end every game trying to be cute.. their desire to play this basketball offense, playing shooting guard is stupid and stops them from playing ahead of the puck.,These 2 guys are not playing to their strengths.

This is all part of your manufactured crisis.

This is all part of your manufactured crisis.
This is my desire to win, not to be easily satisfied. Something is rotten in Denmark, and it starts with the 24m not taking leadership and not playing with full sweat effort.
Before you can trade assets like Robertson, Minten etc for the key pieces to put us over the top, your best guys must be your best guys.
We screwed up last year adding some very good players at a cost and our best guys TURTLED. It was a real sign when a couple of those key guys said hosta la vista.
It is up to the 24m to bring it or coach is first to go since he cannot seem to motivate them.
The crisis time is here, US Thanksgiving, if we don't want to see 57, time is now to take a step.

Absolutely impossible, this must be a hoax, Keefe would never split Marner and Matthews, I keep being told this would never happen even though this has happened many times before.
Rinse and repeat. Breaks them up sometimes for only a period or 2 and if he keeps them apart longer they are just back together by playoffs and then after their 3 games of getting points in blowout games they go invisible again.

There are currently FOUR teams in the league with LESS Regulation wins than us. Five Regulation wins. Only Minnesota, Chicago, San Jose and Montreal are worse. Chicago and San Jose have ONE less regulation win than us... think about that for a second. Oilers... a team in complete disarray, has more regulation wins than us.

We sit in the last wild card spot in the East.

What do you guys think the ownership's break point is, to make changes?
Ya they sure are cup contender…….

If you forget the 350 minutes they played together last year this is almost true.

Don’t hold your breathe, go watch the Jet’s Dillion fight from a couple of days ago, he tuned up Bennett pretty good………

That was Sam Reinhart.

He’s their leading scorer this year, got 80 a few years ago and 67 last year.

Buffalo traded him for Devon Levi and 28th overall in 2022.

Something like that would have been helpful to us.

Lol, your desire to win is no different than any other fans of this team. As long as Marner breaks out we will be fine, at US thanksgiving the team was in a playoff spot.

If by fine you mean we'll make the playoffs, and exit those same playoffs in embarrassing fashion, yeah you're probably right.

What crisis?
The crisis where after 5-7 years of this core they are showing no signs of improvement. We are still shuffling wingers around them trying to motivate them to perform on a consistent basis.
Way to many games they are still un prepared to start in time. Way to many games they squander leads against inferior teams. That kind of crisis

That is what you think a crisis is.

No, I don't mean that.

A good team that has had a slow start with room for improvement.
We have been waiting for core to show any real meaningful improvement for at least the last 5 years and we are still talking about the same issues every dam year and way to many games ……..a slow start.
it’s not a crisis in the context of the world but it is a discrace that these guys havnt figured it out in the 7 years they have been in the league

I agree that they have to be better. I am sure everyone does. I disagree that there is a crisis and my original disagreement was with a poster claiming the crisis was matthews and Marner going to cost Keefe his job tomorrow. Even if Keefe did get fired it would like be for the same reason it was speculated in the summer - new GM likes to choose their own coach. Besides, 14 goals in 19 games is a good start even though they aren't spread out between more games.

A good team that has had a slow start with room for improvement.
It's a collection of very good players, who have yet to put forth the effort required, to really succeed. They've had very good regular season results in the past, but failed to raise their games in the playoffs. If you want to succeed, your best players, have to be the best players on the ice, and ours have never been that.

Often our guys have played down to lesser teams, and relied on talent to win. This season, they are playing down to lesser teams, and not even giving enough effort to pull off those wins. Five regulation wins shows that they just are not succeeding in these games. It's visibly obvious watching these guys, that they just aren't playing hard, or very well.

It isn't just the lack of wins, and it isn't the ok level of points... it's the way they are playing, and the reality that this has been a symptom of this team for this entire era... though it's worse now.

Paraphrasing another poster... are they going to come out and get a lead, and then stop playing and give up that lead... or are they going to come out cold, and give up the lead early, then try for the last 5-10 minutes of the game to get it tied... and really, that is the truth to how they've played.

Now if they had played hard, gave good efforts, but were just having some bad luck... I'd agree with you... but it's consistent lack of effort, execution, and so on.

I agree with that. Hopefully they can start the turn around tomorrow night and for gods sake only put 5 guys on the ice at any given time. Lol
