Contender will only be able to offer late first. I doubt Calgary wants another 30rd pick in draft.

Flames own first back will have double the value to Calgary. Be around 12-15. Montreal be high in the bid. Habs have the pick and prospects Calgary looking for. Montreal has big need and nearing end of rebuild.

At this point, if the Habs don't get Andersson, it will be due to the player not being interested in a long term deal. We have the assets to get it done and the need for this type of player.

I don't think the Flames are looking to trade him at this point. But if the right offer came a long I'm sure they would pull the trigger. At the deadline if they are out of the playoffs race then he'll be moved, teams will pay a big premium for a RH dman with his skill set.
