Rumor: Pagnotta: "Rasmus Andersson is open to a trade, he would welcome it" It would cost 3 assets...1st rnd pick, prospect, +

I can't argue with that. That's why I am willing to move the 1st so early when many Oil fans would say it's too risky. And I have been pencilling in Savoie as a winger, but due to our team needs that's the best fit. I'm not sure if he could be a top 6 C or not.

Idk your prospects as well as you do, but just glancing idk who you compare to Savoie? I don't see too many small wingers. There is the LHS Pelletier, but at almost 24 idk how high that ceiling is and what your teams longterm views are on him. I just don't see a ton of smaller, high offensive potential guys. Not disagreeing with you, but I'm curious who your thinking of.

Ekholm went for a 1st and Schaefer (who definitely did not have 1st round value imo). Chychrun went for a 1st (12th OA) and 2 2nds, then a 3rd and Jensen. Hronek went for a 1st (17 OA) and a 2nd. This is RA's value range imo, notice the lack of guaranteed center prospects. The highest end piece being a 1st that I think most at the time thought would be later than 12 OA.

In all of this, I noticed how much Ras has cooled down since the start of the year. What's the deal there?

If the Flames trade him now I expect something close to Hronek or the first Chychrun trade. If all that is being offered is a late 1st then trade him next year.

They already have Coronato in the top six and a few prospects (Basha and Misha) that are smaller in addition to Pelletier. Then they have a swack load of winger prospects in general. It just isn’t a huge need.

The Flames offense is pretty bad and Andersson has had to focus a lot more on defense. On a good offensive team he will get points.

Hanifin did not "block" a bunch of playoff teams from trading for him with his NTC.

Calgary tried to peddle him as "with an extension" and came back shocked and disappointed when the pending UFA wasn't willing to sign an extension with every single team in the league immediately and at a reasonable amount to do Calgary a favour.
He could have blocked half of the playoff teams if he wanted. Just take the loss, I wasn’t even talking about Hanifin’s value. He got an absolutely normal deadline return.

Absolutely insane here.

NHL players submit their NTCs on the 1st day of the league year.

so Calgary knew exactly which teams were on his NTC through this entire process.

And let me get this scenario you think happened straight.

Noah Hanifin, in the offseason, who we know doesn't want to stay in Calgary (as noted by him refusing very sizeable contract offers in this time frame from Calgary).

And so you think what he did was sat down with his agent and said "I want to make it so I cannot be traded to all the best teams in the league this season. I would REALLY hate it if I got to join one of the best teams for a playoff run and a chance at the cup", and then also accurately predicted which teams would be in the playoffs heading into the year, so he could gain what exactly?

I don’t think that is how it played out in reality but it could have. You are talking like you actually know what happened and you don’t. He can waive to any team he put on his list. You should know that because you are clearly in the room with his agent lol.
The Flames weren’t going to trade him until the deadline and were going try and make playoffs. It’s not really that hard to predict 8 of the playoff teams he wouldn’t want to go to and crappy teams weren’t going to trade for him.
Anyways Andersson’s value is higher right now than Hanifin’s was when he was traded and his NTC is less limiting.

Yeah you're not gonna pretend Calgary fans didn't spend months talking about pieces like Mercer, Nemec, and 10th overall in regards to Jacob Markstrom.

Everyone WANTS the quality. But they don't get it.
Calgary got a 24 year old defenseman who’s playing top pair over Weegar at around 20 to 24 minutes a night without powerplay time on top of a 1st round pick. In what world is that not quality? Bahl has been a revelation even if some Flames fans don’t fully appreciate his game yet. He will be an anchor for our D-core for a decade plus.

Bahl is not in the same stratosphere as Weegar give me a break. Weegar is second pair only on the roster sheet, it’s just to balance the pairings

Bahl has been really reliable and a lot better than I expected but come on now
