Mike:
If you get a chance drop down to practice some afternoon.

They spend a lot of time on special teams .

It's a work in progress. That's the fun in watching the team develop from year to year .
The joys of retirement, I am not there yet. One day I will be able to get to practice. Right now I gotta teach 7 and 8 year olds about offside, good grief.

North Bay first goal terrible
Second goal absolutely terrible
3 goal bad d
4th goal bad bounce
5th goal it’s like watching a turtle move side to side.

Team played like ass but at some point you need your OA goalie to make some saves. That game should’ve been 3-3.
I think the bigger concern is some of the defensive lapses from team in general, but what you're describing, especially on the fifth goal, are signs that Chenard is not 100% healthy. He did not look comfortable most of the night and there were some tells in his body language that suggested he's struggling with a few movements.

I know he's been injured a while, but I'm surprised the coach gave him both nights of a back to back. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt long term.

And unrelated to the post I quoted, but boy did it sting a bit watching Hislop come right in and log big minutes for North Bay alongside Ty Nelson. Sawyer is a totally fine player and I'm glad the Attack have him, but we had that steady 2003 born defender at our training camp last year and could have had him for free. My worry being that DeGray has overpaid for guys he really likes in the past and it has shrunk the size of the cupboard when the team really needed it. Something I'll be watching at the deadline and beyond.

I suppose hindsight is 20/20.

Hyslop looked great. Last year was (hopefully) a one off, with two draft classes to choose from .

I like all 4 dmen they ended up with .

Good on Dale finding a place in the O for him .

The boys didn't have the jump last night to start and it showed.

I agree, Nick is not in mid season form, but he will be . Just back after almost a month off.

Missing Sawyer, Steen and Bryant is showing .

And once Petrovski gets in some practice time he will be fine .
Hes a big body and what I recall from him in last years playoffs, a tough guy to play against.

A bit of an odd week , to Windsor Wednesday, then home and home against the suddenly woke up Gurlph Storm .

North Bay came in and bullied us around all night, For a team that was playing there third game in three nights they dominated the game at times and we looked slow and sluggish, seems to be Jekyll and Hyde with OS for effort.

I think Cormier+picks could definitely get you Kyrou. Some of the good teams (SAR with Martone, WSR with Cristoforo, etc) seem unwilling to move their 06 so if OS did offer that, they’d at least be in the top 2/3 teams in the running for him
Now that you clarified I would be in favor of upgrading your initial comment it sounded like you thought Cormier for Kyrou staight up

I remember last season watching Hislop here right after the trade and then a few more times throughout the season. I applaud Brayden in just over a year he has really developed into a very solid player. I couldn't help but think last night that he would certainly look good on our blue line. I do however applaud the Attack for letting him go to Saginaw and develop you win some you lose some.

I hear what your saying but that North Bay team is a good hockey club. As far as Attack being Jekyll and Hyde I would have to say being 13-7 and 2nd place in the conference they are a little more Jekyll and a little less Hyde

I like George and for some reason we play our OA goalie who moves like a snail lol. Nothing positive to say from that game Saturday anyways.. if you found a positive then you are not a smart hockey fan. NB was playing a 3 in 3 and they looked like the fresher team, I think our team is either slow or not conditioned well. You guys love hating on me for me hating on Chenard and votary. But an OA goalie should not be giving up those goals. That game should’ve been 3-3. But no we have a young goalie who is on a heater and we send him down to junior b 🤦🏽‍♂️

I think we struggle with your analysis because Chenard is third in most OHL goalie stats (second among starters).

And to be fair, we struggle with the fact that all your really post is complaining and venting. The team has 2 of the top 4 scorers in the league, they have one of the best groups of 2004 born players in the league, they are 13-7.

You post like they are Niagara. If you do that, I think its fair people will question you.

If I didn't know my own handle here I would think I'm you because many of your posts are exactly what I'm thinking lol. As far as goaltending the great Constantini has been pulled a few times and the equally great Brochu has looked human at times. The offensive talent in this league is second to none and we are blessed to have our fair share. At the start of the season Wally said that 30 w's wasn't enough he wanted 40 some people chuckled as they thought with the parity that that was a lofty goal. I like it and at the pace we are on would easy surpass that. Will we? It's hard to say we likely will have a losing streak so maybe not. Personally I chuckle at people when they point out mistakes. I have always maintained hockey is a game of mistakes and the team that wins makes the fewest and capitalizes on the other teams.

We as fans have to remember these kids aren't professionals. Mistakes happen in hockey, even more commonly so in junior hockey. It's a development league and the point is for them to learn and grow as players and human beings. I think as a team you can measure results on the improvement of the individuals as well as the improvement of the team systems/structures. Generally speaking, the team has made improvements since the start of the year(outside of the powerplay lol). I think the fun in this sport is any team is capable of winning any given night. Losses happen but good teams win more often than not. This Attack team is certainly doing that.

To further that this is not a League where teams are 100% on their game 100% of the time.

Last game a simple explanation North Bay wanted it more and beat us. It happens... now let's move on to tonight's game versus the Spits.

A top team that we can beat and have beat this season and have had generally good success against. This team is a good as any other top team in the league any given night and sometimes we the fans forget they're still kids in that process but from what I've seen thus far this season whenever this team has a hiccup they don't let it go too far before they get back on track.

Tonight's game will be no different versus the Spits will have to be on the top of our game but we can and have beat Windsor before during the season.

Funny, hasn't the powerplay actually had a bit more success of late (maybe thats a low bar :) )

It legitimately looked dangerous against Erie in the two game set. Oshawa left a man in the neutral zone to chase the puck carrier up ice and eliminate or at least make it very challenging to use the ladder play. I don't think they ever really got anything going against North Bay with it. The Erie games at least showed a glimmer of hope lol.

I struggle with the fact that Chenard can’t back up a good game with another good game.

This is like when you said the team can't play infront of Votary and I posted 5/6 games where they did.

His last 6 games. 1 games of 5 with a save percentage under .905. If your statement was correct, the 19th and 21st games would have been awful, they were not. He's had 1 bad game and you cry like a child not getting a toy, thats more on you then him.

10-14 - Kitchener .966 sv%
10-19 - London .935 sv%
10-21 - Erie - .971 sv%
11-18 - Osh - .905 sv%
11-19 - North Bay .839 sv%
11-23 - Windsor .909sv%

This simply is not supported by any kind of facts what so ever.

First in Attack history tonight. 2 hat tricks in the same game .
Well done Colby and Servac !

For good measure , Deni Goures 4 points slides him into 2nd overall league pts leaders .
Excellent game Deni !

Sometimes teams have other teams number.

Tonight's game was a perfect example of this, the bend but don't break mindset has found its way back into the teams mojo tonight.

Good to see the team get ahead on the scoreboard and kinda run the game right till the final buzzer, would've been nice to see the shutout happen absolutely but giving up 3 and having two key members carry the team on their backs from the offensive size of the puck is sometimes what's needed to get back on track.

Hopefully they can carry that momentum into the home and home stand versus the Storm this weekend and string some space in the standings.

Interesting little side-note everytime this team stumbles they answer back the following week with a big statement. Tonight was definitely that statement.
