I wasn't taking a shot. Just feels like many times yall have a good roster but go quiet near the deadline. No doubt he's built one helluva team. Your T6 is sweet.

As for Sarnia.. We are unmatched in our suckage come playoffs. It's quite something. We could've had McDavid & we still would've lost in the first two rounds. It's just what we do 😂

GL the rest of the way.
Alan LeTang will do his best to get it done. Great coach

The only problem I have with our gm saying he isn’t big fish hunting is that isn’t the whole purpose of playing this game is to win it all? And with the West so mediocre this year wouldn’t you want to say screw it and try to win it all? Like if Kitchener keeps struggling would a Mesar become available?? You damn well know that London is going to make a move to put them over the top if they are near the top of the conference. I’d rather see them make a deep push in the playoffs rather then being concerned about a 30 win season.. we have a two year window so let’s do something with it.

Well being at that game tonight we played good for the first two periods.. I thought we sat back in the third and let Guelph keep attacking us. I’ll take the point but we should’ve won that game. Number 6 took way to many penalties for my liking.

Exactly. This whole 30 win mediocracy goal is getting old! We have the core to make a push. If you want to get to the Memorial Cup you need to enter the big fish game like Hamilton did last year adding McTavish and Xhekaj. I really feel the opportunity to go for it is next year though and the deal to get Petrovski screams that to me. He is not an upgrade to the current core but makes sense for next year.

More importantly DD needs to hold this coaching staff accountable!!!!!! Why????????

1 - The continuous slow starts
2 - The horrendous powerplay = yes we got one tonight on a great individual effort from Goure
3 - The love affair with 9 and 6 - they are not superstars and deserving of 25-30 mins per night - prove me wrong - look at goals against the last 5 games or so and player 9's shift lengths and positioning on at least half of them. If i was more tech savvy i would post clips.

The PP might be the most comical thing ever, Even the Storm commentators were questioning its' inefficiency given all the fire power we have up front. Why are we not trying anything different ever??? 9 and 6 are not PP quarterbacks. They just are not. 9 on the PP entry and ladder is outrageous. Coach GW would have more speed walking in dress shoes up the middle And how is a 5th year player the answer on 2nd unit with career point totals of 10, 7, 12,????

If this is not the go for it year and next year is - move everyone that will not be here next year for assets to do so. My OA's next year in that scenario are Goure, Burroughs, and Lawrence -they are/will be impact players.

Not our best outing but certainly not our worst in Guelph.

The shootout is still nothing more then a skills competition and to come out with a point in Guelph shows how much closer this game truly was at the end. A chance at redemption tomorrow from the Bayshore, this is something that this team has been fairly good at this season is when they hit a hiccup they are pretty good at correcting it from one game to the next.

Round 2 tomorrow in this classic highway 6 best of 8 season matchup.

Neither Sedley or Seed are particularly well equipped to run the PP in my opinion. Both put too many pucks into shin pads from the point for my liking which means they are settling for low quality shots. Seed is a bit of a liability carrying the puck up ice. Schweingruber has been playing much better of late and appears to be the best passer on the back end. His ability to make quality tape to tape passes or the soft touch area passes would be beneficial on the PP. Would be nice to at least give him a look on the second unit PP. Some of the reads he has made in the offensive zone of late with crisp tape to tape cross seam passes could really open up the ice. The 5 forward PP unit they tried last year was a bit of a disaster so I don't think that's worth revisiting but could at least try some alternative options in the 4F 1D structure.

I think they will still make moves prior to the deadline to help the team and I think that can be done without giving away the farm. I would be in favor of paying a higher price for the right 04 player though. Bring in a piece that helps now but could be a bigger part of next year's team when most would agree is the better year for contention. The Petrovski deal is a nice pick up but I still think their D isn't where it ideally should be to contend. Getting Sawyer back prior to the deadline would be nice to better gauge where you stand.

There was no ladder entry attempt on the PP last night.

25 should not be out on the ice for OT 3v3 you need speed, he is just to slow. Still waiting for this team to put in a 60 min effort. They looked awful in the first two periods then decided to play in the third. Thought votary had a strong game, Guelphs goalie made some great saves as well. I’d like to see them play Sedley up forward whenever Sawyer returns.

Great points and the speed thing had me shaking my head when the threw 28 out there on the last shift in OT?

I love 25 but he was 2-13 on draws???

I'm hard on guys but will give credit when credit is due. Awesome goal by 9 to put us up early. We would see more of that from him if they could get a handle on his shift lengths. He is far more valuable to us as a fwd!!! So love that point.

Awesome to see the PP connect twice in third bc OMG the early 5 on 3 was same old same old when we needed it most and could have been the difference in the game.

So the last place team beats us back to back? Next year is our go for it year. Make the moves DD. Start with 6. Seriously. Why does he play 25-30 mins a night? Someone explain it to me.

Oh ya. Almost forgot. I didn't attend tonight for a personal reason but watched on tv. Again, I'm hard on 9 And loved his goal to start tonight and his shifts on fwd but did anyone hear that stat that Mark McKelvie threw out tonight? Player 9 does not have a PP goal in his career???

I’ve noticed it as well that those two guys play half the game, it must mean that they don’t trust 10,22, and 24?? I really don’t know. If that’s the case make a trade or start playing all 6 S more. I’m more concerned about our 4th line, the rookies and chafe are just too small. Has 8 scored yet this season? I want to see more from 11 as well.

9 might as well play forward as he seems to be there more than playing his position. I know they had him out there playing forward, but when he was playing defense, he got caught up ice on 3 different occasions and he's too slow coming back. As defenseman he never uses his body and hit anyone, just pokes his stick at them. He sucks on the power play and has way too much ice time. jmo

God it sucks being second in the conference with 3 of the top 5 league scorers and a top 3 goalie . but I will try and work on that...
Damn I hate being 2nd lol. Yes Guelph started slow but they are trending up we lost in a SO and in OT probably shouldn't happen but I'm not ready to hit the big red panic button just yet. I know I used to watch the game with blinders on and if I didn't like a player all there miscues jump right out. Hockey IS a game of mistakes unfortunately this wknd ours cost us a bit. IMHO 1 thing to remember when 3,5,13 return to the lineup this team does look a little bit different. I also don't believe DD is done I think there will be at least 1 more move. No it won't be a Shane Wright but we may be surprised at any new additions contribution. I think we all have to agree that DD has been pretty good at adding Quality without making the big splash.

At what point do you think something has to happen for these two young guys.. I understand they are both rookies blah blah blah but watching games lately you need to be able to roll 4 lines and when it’s those two centred by Chafe on the ice it’s nerve racking. In a year where you expect to go deep, we need a little more secondary scoring, can’t rely on the big three every game. Because those damn Knights are right on our heels and you know they will make moves to push them over the top.

General question, does anyone know what happened to the black third jerseys? They still seem to be available for purchase but I don't think they've worn them the past two seasons. They are pretty sharp and it was nice to see them mixed in once in awhile.

I think both have had their moments this year when they were playing with better players. They looked ok when Guindon or Goure were getting double shifted with them. It's been tough sledding when they get rolled out together on the fourth line as they get a little exposed. I thought Cormier looked like he was close to breaking out prior to U17s, he was getting some scoring chances but hasn't really been a factor since coming back. Picking up a depth forward has to be on the to do list I would think. Bryant is still out for awhile it sounds like and Bonaiuto won't be back anytime soon either.

Cormier left the game Saturday after receiving a big hit and didn't return. Chafe took a skate in the face and his status is unknown. You could slot Sedley in at forward for the interim but with Steen and Sawyer out our D is pretty thin. Rogers slots in as your sixth D in that scenario and they won't be able to shelter him as the 7th D. Depending on how serious the injuries may or may not be, they may need to make a move sooner than later for a forward.

I was thinking the same. Although the line of 39, 7 and 11 is fantastic, one would think that the fire power could be spread out a bit more. All a team like Guelph has to do is shut down one line and they have a chance.

I agree with the sentiment, but I think the team has the forward depth beyond those three with guys like Petrovksy, Papais, Burroughs and Lawrence that they can deploy a solid top 6 while stacking the top line if they choose to do so. Ideally they find the right combo on the third line to stretch the line up where they can roll the top three lines. Missing Bryant right now takes away from the third line, though I think Brennan has looked solid slotting in on that line with regularity.

Will be interesting to get a look at the SOO this weekend. They may not want to part with him as he's likely an OA candidate next season with only four 03s on their roster, but Tyler Savard seems to be an intriguing player. He's operating at a point per game clip with a plus 10 +/- rating and would add some physicality to the team. Wouldn't imagine he constitutes as a big fish add in terms of cost so maybe that fits within the budget.
