Should be a few yes, Timmins had a lot of picks in last 18 years. But overall he stunk. I out drafted him for example.

If Mailloux and Guhle hit their ceilings, plus we'll see with Harris, Struble, Xhekaj, etc... his record for dmen will be pretty good.

People are gonna be impressed by his skills at the camp, I can tell you that. He has a good wrister and his vision is pretty solid, especially on the powerplay. He has the potential to be a lot more than a 3C. He's already a pro level skater too, definitely one of the better movers in the draft.

Well said and great avatar.....Marvin Gaye's masterpiece!

Wright will get there. Watching the game tonight in Colorado he had some good shifts.
I watched parts of this game, and indeed Wright had some strong shifts. It's just that he was billed as the next Bergeron... Beck feels closer to that comparison (in terms of what he brings to the table). Although I'm not qualified to make these kinds of assessments :)

We drafted a lot of absolute stinkers on defense under him, especially in the first round. Not always his fault (Juulson was never the same after his injury), but Guhle looks like the first first round defenseman we drafted under Timmins to be able to potentially live up to his draft pick. Which to his credit was a good one. Well, besides Sergachev...

Mailloux is a total wildcard at this point although he has more tools than Tinordi at least.

McDonagh?

And then there were Subban and Streit who were also number 1 Dmen in their primes. Number 1 dmen don't grow on trees. If Guhle and Sergachev make it, that's 5.

Defensemen and late picks Timmins was decent. But lack ability to recognize high end offensive talent. Not like people can't tell. Mesar, Hutson, Beck compared to Struble, Mysak or Touch. Not hard to see why Gorton canned him.

True.

(nut note you're comparing a 26, 33, and a late 2nd, to 3 mid round 2nds... And while I agree that Timmins sucked with forwards, Struble might be a good dman still. I'm high on Hutson - but think he may end up an offense forward/pp qb...we'll see...

I think Beck definitely proves that doing good in school and focusing on "growing" your brain pays dividends in your hockey career. Especially for a Center.

Seeing late picks, +25 Mesar, Beck, Hutson can see the future. Anybody with any common sense anyway. Load Hughes up with picks I'd say. Keep continuous flow coming in system.
