I think that’s the scouting report on every OHL goalie. The glass above the end boards takes a beating in this league. There are VERY few players I’ve seen come through the league lately that I thought were elite snipers.
The net is the same size as it always has been but they still can't seem to hit it on a regular basis.

This one was a tough loss to Saginaw, after the comeback and the lead.
You cannot lose games against teams below you in the standings if you want to keep pace with the leaders in the conference.

Yes, that especially hurts after gaining the lead after being down 3-0.

A London win vs Windsor tomorrow, and a loss to London on Tuesday, will put the Knights 7 points up with two games in hand. That’ll close the book on any shot at 1st.

Saw something funny while watching Petes/Generals game. With about 3:30 left in the third of a 2-2 tie game, Bowen went to retrieve the puck on the side wall, wanting to backhand it behind his net to his D, he actually sent it across his crease onto the far post and it stayed out. It was kind of fun to see his reaction 🤣

Getting Luke Ellinas back will help push Lam down a line and add some more grit and goal scoring ability to the second line.
Realize it’s still probably a long shot, but do the Rangers still have a card open in case of Sale being loaned down to the OHL? I know the deadline is looming, but he put up another dud tonight playing 4th line minutes after getting benched again last night. He’s now 1 goal, 2 assists in last 18 games, after starting the season with 12pts in 13 games.

Not likely, but never say never when he’s 19 and still developing. Finishing 2 months off getting top line minutes and PP as opposed to getting in the lineup once every other game soaking up 4th line minutes. Seattle might wake up here, you never know.

I get what you are saying Even, but that is a tall order (not losing to teams below) when there is only one team ahead off you in the standings. First world problem?? 😁

These road games are a grind for any team especially when you get to the 3rd game. Rangers still have a bunch of young players on the roster making it a challenge to win that last game. This is where the opposition can take advantage. Saginaw has the remnants of a Mem Cup championship. Regardless of their position in the standings they are a skilled well coached squad. Rangers managed to come back and make a game of it but just fell short in the end. Fixter said Saginaw controlled the game up until the score was 3-1 then the Rangers got their feet going.

Considering that I saw the Rangers in rebuild mode and in the bottom four this season, they are doing pretty good...
Ya, I find it hard to complain even at some of these losses. I didn't see them having any shot at 1st and would have no problem really if they finished lower in the standings. A competitive playoff run and the highest draft pick possible while being able to accomplish the former, is all I'm after.

They are doing extremely well, fans have got to be proud of this team, considering many had them not making the playoffs in early fan polls
I honestly thought the Rangers would be near the top of the second tier depending how deep the selloff went. It turned out to only be Rehkopf so here we are. I do admit it's still shocking.

I think trading Rehkopf was an addition by subtraction. It certainly has not helped Brampton. I think your team is farther ahead in the development curve because of that early move.

I must say it's great to see a Positive Sunday approach being taken on this board today

...and just bringing another positive to light.....with Vermeulen's 9th goal of the season last night, he has now tripled his point total compared to last season at roughly the same number of games - all while playing mostly on the lower tiered lines (yeah I think there may have been a few PP points in there somewhere too). He is also 3rd on the team in +/- . I can't remember what MM gave up to get him, but IMO I think this turned out to be a decent return on investment for the Rangers. As an '06 we probably get him back next season too.

By my count, we’re at 28 cards.

MM could possibly could use the 29th card by signing Xu or Cameron to the last A card. He might be holding off on that until the 15th.

If MM doesn’t use the 29th card on an 08, it’s possible another player as well as Sale could be signed here but I have no idea who that would or could be.

But yes, we do have room should Sale be sent back. And for me, it looks like he should be.

Probably get him back? Where else would he go? I’d say 100% he is back unless we trade him?

Xu I like but I can’t see MM pissing off Bilecki, Dirracalo and MacNeil off even more. I see Xu as a great option for call ups when needed but can’t see him wanting to sign an A card unless it’s a full time spot and not a player that plays 50% to 60% of games. If that’s the case then MM has really pissed off the 3 Dman that would have to fight for the 6th spot. It might be a short term gain but long term you are pissing off too many players. Sale is different as he goes right into the top 6 and there is no question he belongs there. Xu is not in our top 4 this year on D.
