that no goal,

no conclusive evidence that the stick hits the puck after it was batted down by Ovi's hand

What do you mean "no conclusive"? There was no evidence at all. In fact, there was plenty of evidence to the contrary.

It's not a clean hit meaning he sort of whiffs on it. But still he hits it from that replay. It's not a clean traditional tip but there is contact.

fwiw, if it did touch a stick, it wasant stralmans according to himself

Then I 100% believe Ovi hit it, the puck picked up backspin somewhere.

The problem is, unless Stralman is well versed on the rule, of course he'd say that. I imagine him thinking that if he touched it the goal would have counted, so even if it did, why would he admit that? Unless he knew beforehand the rule means only Ovi can touch it.

Also, are we forgetting about spin and gravity? Go watch a knuckleball, there's no consistency with the movement. It's all dependent on how the spin of the puck hits the air.

There's nothing conclusive that he touched it, but it could've been touched by either Strålman or Ovy. It just isn't on the replays, so it's a clear no goal.

Ofc he tried to sell it, it would've been weird if he didn't.

Speaking of the rule in general, wouldn't it make more sense that a stick touch only negates the glove if the stick actually redirects the puck and becomes involved in the physics of the goal?

Of course in this particular situation it doesn't matter anyway because the stick didn't touch the puck to begin with.

Stralman already confirmed it wasn't his stick.

Nothing can be done now. Doesn't matter, play a full game comrades

Witness accounts aren't very good. Stralman could have touched it and not realized, because his stick also came in contact with Ovechkin's. That's also why Ovechkin's account isn't telling either.

Thank god for NHL refs. a IIHF ref would probably miss Ovechkins handball. Canadians are the best.

The people claiming there was conclusive evidence Ovie hit the puck with his stick from those replays... I don't know what they're seeing.

All I see is inconclusive. Some claim the puck changes rotation slightly, so what? We don't know what made the puck change rotation, if it did. I don't see it.
