BTW Ovechkin secondary assisted his goal again.

This is what makes him a genius on the ice offensively. Passes it indirectly to Strome in a vacant area of the ice allowing him to build speed. He calmly skates to his office while the CBJ players are back checking hard and scores the goal.

He didn’t even cover half the distance that other players skated on that goal. He’s just thinking a step ahead of everyone else.

Most goals after the age of 30:

1) Howe -383
2) Bucyk - 347
3) Esposito - 337
4) Ovechkin - 334
5) Ratelle - 311
6) Selanne - 305
7) Hull - 299 (Brett)
8) Messier - 280
9) Jagr - 265
10) Mullen - 258
OV has 384 age 30+,
starting from 2015-16 season when he scored 50.

Those 50 are missing in above table.
Maybe "after 30" means 31 or more?

PS nm, saw above, just a bit weird to count from 31

I'm guessing they would go 18-19 for teenage years and then 20-30 for prime years.

Then 31 and on after prime.

384 now, will make him 123rd all-time
ahead of Lindsay and Lindros

Two HoF careers in one indeed...

Ovi's hockey IQ is so underrated, but it's what has made it possible for his decline to be so minimal despite not being remotely close to what he used to be physically.

NHL Goals including age 30 season * :

1. Gretzky - 736
2. Bossy - 573
3. Lemieux - 563
4. Ovechkin - 525
5. Yzerman - 517
6. Jagr - 501
7. Dionne - 488
8. Goulet - 487
9. Hawerchuk - 483
10. Hull - 482 (Bobby)

* I actually went into game logs for players that turned age 31 during that season and only included goals for their respective age 30 for that season.

That’s cool, I also scored 14 goals in my beer league last year in my 40s. What does that have to do with the NHL?

He was still going strong before he retired and when he returned to the NHL after 6 seasons in the WHA he scored 15 goals. I really doubt he would score as many goals in NHL as he did in the WHA, but if he could score 15 at age 51 in NHL I don't see why he couldn't score atleast half as many.

When talking about most goals after 30 it's worth pointing out because it's not like Howe just retired at 42 and returned 9 years later to statpad 15 more goals. He had scored a ton in the second best league in the world inbetween.

So does Ovi get 45 more goals for his under 30 record from his KHL and Russia play?
