No Man's Land
Las Vegas police prevented a mass shooting by a crazy lunatic on Tuesday during the Stanley Cup celebration.

Scary stuff
Scary stuff indeed.

Comparing expansion teams:

Vegas won the cup in their sixth season
Flyers won their first cup in their seventh season
Islanders won their first cup in their eighth season
Bit different circumstances: Oilers won their first cup in their fifth NHL season

Vegas won the cup on home ice. Interesting that the Pens have won 5 cups, all clinching games on the road.

He's a bully, who uses emotional manipulatation, fear & abuse to try & "motivate" his team.

Chris Chelios:

"Some of the things he (Babcock) said to him (Franzen) on the bench, I don’t know what he said to him behind closed doors one-on-one, but he blatantly verbally assaulted him during the game on the bench.

“It got to the point where poor Johan, no one really knowing he was suffering with the concussion thing and the depression thing, he just broke down and had nervous breakdown, not only on the bench but after the game in one of the rooms in Nashville."

Franzen himself said he was a "good" coach, but one of the worst people he's ever met.

"...but he's a terrible person, the worst I ever met. He’s a bully who was attacking people. It could be a cleaner at the arena in Detroit or anybody. He would lay into people without any reason.”

If whatever he said Franzen shocked Chelios you know it was worse behind closed doors.

He's absolutely an abusive piece of shit.

Then there's all the dickish things he did, like not playing Modano in the final game of the season, despite the Wings not needing a win. Modano finished his career at 1499 games rather than 1500. Or, not playing players in their home town, or benching them if Mom & Dad were visiting and wanted to watch their kid play.

It goes far, far beyond being mean to Marner. The Leafs at the end absolutely shut down on him, so you know there was a hell of a lot more than what leaked too.
He’s a piece of shit. There’s no other way to describe him. The fact Jarmo is bringing this guy in really makes me dislike him too.

I used to like Jarmo, now he can go pound sand. If fans know that Babcock is a piece of shit then there is no way he doesn’t know, but he’s going to put his young players through that kind of abuse anyway. f*** him.
