Used to like LeClair’s style of play, which is why it was hard to see the Habs trade him.

However, I can’t say I was a fan of LeClair’s to the same extent as @OldCraig71 who still owns his Habs jersey.

The only thing the guy ever did wrong here was falling over himself from trying too hard.

He was a legitimately good player, not sure what caused his decline.

Any signing of a prizes UFA aged 27+ is risky. I think that they fail most of the time. See Zach Praise and John Tavares.

His mother passing away after a long battle w cancer, and having to take care of his brother added more weight on his shoulders I would think - let alone perspective on life

Probably a number of factors. Injury, and a fat contract coupled with a loss of passion for the game. We've seen this movie before.

No, they're covered at LD. They have Theodore Hague & McNabb all as LD. In fact, Theodore plays his offside because Martinez plays LD too. They also have Hutton signed for another year, and he's LD.

In fact, all are signed for next year too.

We posted about it when it happened and both Briere and his son issued public apologies. However, I can’t recall whether Briere’s son ever contacted the owner of that wheelchair directly or if anything was offered as compensation or goodwill gesture. If I recall correctly, the university that Briere’s son attended, took disciplinary measures.

Hopefully, Briere’s son learned a big lesson from this and some good will come out of it.
