Maybe if the team likes hearing mumbling and just think he's a nice guy.
Worst coach I've ever witnessed in the NHL tho...but ya maybe as an assistant he has some ideas.
Like MB I suspect he has some really good attributes, just not the complete package. As an assistant he can be used for those strengths.

For sure! No doubt!

This is not thread worthy. It is not even newsworthy. Dubois was traded before he could become a Restricted Free Agent. Clubs can't make offers to a player who is under contract unless the club with his rights gives permission.

Hughes was clearly not able to make any offer to Dubois because Winnipeg did not give permission. Even LA did not get permission until AFTER Winnipeg had a potential trade in place that satisfied them.

Why would Winnipeg give permission in a situation where they had talks on an acceptable trade in work? Why would any of us think they would have done that ...... and that it was not highly covered at the time "Winnipeg gives Brisson permission to talk to other teams".

I hope this new thread is closed now, before it hits 1000 posts. There are plenty Dubois threads posters can bump for this non-news.
If this thread isn’t closed will you have a fit? I bet if OP had 10 000 posts you wouldn’t say that. It’s very weird how people police on here and kind of hilarious

What does this mean? Hughes didn’t offer his agent an extension? Or Hughes didn’t offer WPG a trade? If he didn’t offer an extension or a “this is what we’d offer you if we trade for you” it’s probably because we didn’t offer WPG what they wanted, so we knew the deal wouldn’t happen, and I don’t think PLD would necessarily know if Montreal and Winnipeg were in discussions. Better players have found out they’re being traded via social media.

First; he couldn't unless the Jets agreed to let him do so, which means they had a trade in place.

Second; this is just Dubois trying to win back Quebec media and not get booed the second he steps onto the ice in Montreal. This is pure politics and nothing more.

f*** Dubois.

I like Dubois but man that contract is nuts for an inconsistent moody player. He has a lot of the same faults as Anderson though he is much better offensively. I just think we'd have a lot of the same frustrations we already have.
Contract is fine by itself. It's the combination of giving up the assets and then having that player on that contract that would be irritating.

Yeah, money wise it's probably going to be the norm for most higher profile players starting next year with the cap increase. But I guarantee he is traded before that contract is up.

Still can't believe goalies played without helmets.

Also they really could shoot the puck with those old wood sticks with barely a curve. Some of those passes too, gorgeous

Haha, no. I just hope most people will realize that no offer could have been made since it would be tampering, so this is not news. Mods can moderate as they see fit, and my life will go on just fine either way. I don't think it is healthy to take a fit over what goes on at a recreational/entertainment message board!
