Is that ever not the case for rags players? Kreider was always the number one prospect on hf and better than everyone else who had way better stats than him. Kreiders lucky he played long enough to get panarin as a linemate in a massive increased scoring era. Patches one to one wrecks him as a player for most of their careers.

Zibanejad was terrific until this year. Suzuki is on the up, but he’s also much younger. The Rangers got good years out of Mika Zibanejad.

Damn, Rangers got out from under Trouba's $8m contract. Anaheim got nothing for taking that cap space from them. They just got Trouba, who sucks.

Montreal got more for taking Laine (a 2nd round pick). Lol

Rangers have a ton of cap space this year to improve the team though assuming there's teams willing to trade them something.

Also, so much for family man Trouba. He didn't want to be traded in the summer due to his wife being in medical residency program in New York and the couple having a new born infant.

But, he nixes a trade to Columbus which at least would have kept him really close to NY, and instead gets traded to Anaheim, which is the furthest that NY could send him (only Vancouver is further from NY).

Wadell is a senior GM with a decent history, CBJ are 2 pts from a playoff spot and they seem to have some young players stepping up. Meanwhile, Anaheim still sucks. I don't get that choice at all.

You have to wonder how this is all going down in Rangers dressing room.

Last week I was seeing Rangers fans complaining their teams was just being carrier by their goalies. So he totally deserve the $$$, but at the same time....I know how that story ends.

Ducks will probably retain and re-trade him. Trouba at 4 million has decent value. It's free first rounder.
