Lindstrom had a setback AFTER the draft.
Iggy is fresh.
You could make that argument for Zegras if you want...but Habs have worse injury luck so probably would have got injured here too lol.
Zergras injury looked like a slew foot.

“Today I made the difficult decision to move on from Luke as our head coach,” general manager Kyle Davidson said in a statement. “We thank him for his efforts and contributions to the organization and our community. As we have begun to take steps forward in our rebuilding process, we felt that the results did not match our expectations for a higher level of execution this season and ultimately came to the decision that a change was necessary.”

Chicago had expected to be more competitive in Richardson's third season. It signed Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, Alec Martinez and Craig Smith on a busy first day of free agency this summer.

Chicago rebuild strategy:
Step1: Signs a bunch of nonfactors on the wrong side of 30.
Step2: Fire the coach because Bedard can't carry them.

And yet many of the vocal posters here were
- mad at KH for not improving the team with these exact type of UFA signings
- want MSL fired for "reasons"
- think our rebuild is a failure because we didn't get a Bedard

Davidson is literally delivering exactly the kind of rebuild they want lol

Don't know about that, Celebrini can definitely come back. Still, Reinbacher better be f***ing amazing.
Yeah...well....I'm not expecting it. He will be serviceable. But never to that extent. That's my opinion. I think that a scouting group or a head scout should just believe in something and go with it. How you overthink 2023 yet analyze perfectly 2024.....is mind boggling.

I really like Reinbacher, but I can't see him be anything close to what we're seeing from MM. Michkov is playing like the #1OA, #1B they said he would be.
Hell I don't even know if Demidov can perform like this but obviously it's not impossible that he replicates it. Seems like we Trevor Timmins-ed the pick.

Demidov is amazing, but I'd be shocked if he's as productive out of the gate. He relies more on his physical tools and technical skills, which take more time to adjust to the NHL. He'll be dynamite I'm sure, but a lot of things have to be right to be ppg in your D+2.

There is no point comparing Michkov and Reinbacher. We have no way to know if Michkov would have signed with Montreal. And Habs are building a team not just the the best scorers. That is how you end up the same as the Sabres.
