Watching the Stars-Kings game and this might be the worst NHL ice ever played on. Puck bouncing left and right, players having a hard time stringing together more than 3 passes without the puck bouncing over their stick. Get your shit together LA.

Lindstrom, Iggy, Zegras...all big injuries
I guess we lucked out with potential/no go future Habs
That's not how that works. In Lindstrom's case, we knew. Tij, unless the team knew, it's something new? For Zegras, it doesn't mean it would have happened here and different circumstances. Always puzzling when people say we dodged a bullet when someone gets hurt under different circumstances than if they'd be with us.

Lindstrom had a setback AFTER the draft.
Iggy is fresh.
You could make that argument for Zegras if you want...but Habs have worse injury luck so probably would have got injured here too lol.

So no, for 2 out of 3 the argument doesn't stand up. Doesn't mean they'd be injured if they were here.

Bedard stalling has put GM on the hot seat w ownership

You'd think a GM who tore it down to the studs would understand that he was embarking on a 5+ years journey. They are barely in year 3 of the rebuild.

When Kane took the league by storm, there was already Seabrook (D+4), Keith (D+5), Crawford (D+4), Toews (D+2) in the pipeline. There was a core that was coalescing. Bedard is the first-born of this Hawks rebuild (EDIT: actually the second born, I guess Korchinski is the first born). They still have a long way to go before things get better.

GMs & hockey ops types don't run the business of hockey…

Also, re: Kane & Toews people forget Hawks tried to speed up the process prior coming out of the 2004 lockout by signing high priced UFAs Aucion & Khabibulin. Those signings bombed and Hawks ended up w Kane & Toews that was never part of their calculus to begin with though

Man, they are not very patient.
