I get it and passing on Michkov doesn’t look good right now but you conveniently forget that 90% of his board was clamouring for Wright.
Here's the thing that I will never understand. Those pros. Those guy who are paid the big bucks, the ones that continuously go to games live. The ones that have access to families, friends and coaches. Those ones....well they are often excused. Hey, the draft is a crapshoot. You can't hit 100%. I mean, even the good ones don't etc.....

But when fans are wrong....BOOM you go it wrong buddy!!!!! If the PROS can be wrong...the AMATEUR can be way more wrong.

And frankly.....I mean.....If Slaf's ceiling becomes a 60 points player.....no other team will care. First, NOBODY had a chance to pick him so nobody can say...we should have done it. And today...seeing Slaf play...nobody can safely say that Wright will not develop into something tangible. Chances are we are SO not talking about a Michkov type of gap. They went needs. It's inexcusable.

The Michkov obsession just makes me roll my eyes. I just avoid the Canadiens board since anything could just be another Michkov thread in disguise.
Out of town shouldn't have Michkov in it? Where is he playing? Is he a Habs? lol.

If anything Out of Town and the Ops thread should and will have Michkov in it. Any other place, it should be removed.

Lots of adrenaline for the Blackhawks today playing in front of a new coach...they mustered 14 shots on goal...yeah blame Luke...
Bedard regressing most likely was a big factor in Richardson getting canned.

The move was mostly about a GM that gutted a team trying to buy time by pretending that he is doing something.

Good game in Pittsburgh tonight. Leafs took a number of bad penalties, including Matthews on one that lead to the game winning powerplay goal. Pacioretty was back from injury and took 2 bad penalties in a row going after Letang. Leafs got a questionable powerplay with just over two minutes left but the Pens scored two empty netters. Pens powerplay was impressive how well and quickly they move the puck. Only Leaf forwards that impressed were Marner and Knies. Pens looked good, Jarry was solid in net.

The loudest bullhorns on the Michkov file have an illustrious history of persuasion, so I, for one, am looking forward to parsing the same posts over and over and over and over and over.

How is it inexcusable? We haven’t seen the guy play yet.

Great that Mich is playing awesome hockey. And fone for us to wish we had him. But we haven’t even seen what we’ve drafted yet. I’m not going to listen to people say we’ve made a mistake when our player hasn’t shown what he can do.

Owner seems to be the impatient meddling type. The kind of guy who mandates a clean slate then demands a competitive team 2 years later. There’s no way Davidson is this dumb.

This is what I'm talking about. It's over man. We took the wrong guy. It sucks, but the sooner we all admit it, the sooner we all move on.

We all hope DR can give us something valuable.

The board was clamouring to take the guy they had heard of for two years over the guy nobody had heard of… stop the presses…

I’d phrase it as: we didn’t pick the right guy. It has nothing to do with Reinbacher. The Habs need a 1D and by God I hope Reinbacher surprises Kent “We see him as a D-2” Hughes himself with this 1D play.

But we also needed an offensive superstar. He’s already outscoring and outplaying Slafkovsky. I know which one I’d trust blindly in a playoff series: the one who doesn’t give up and need his boss’ boss to motivate him 24 games into a season. So we didn’t pick the right guy. We can move on if they let us.

Another solid game by Kovacevic.
Most ice time on New Jersey and on the ice with 2 minutes left in the game on a 6 on 5 in a 3-2 Devils win.

I guess we didn’t need a 6’5” 220 lbs right handed solid stay at home dmen making 766K.
Big guys like Kovacevic usually have good plus/minus. I was mystified when trade announced. Low contract, character guy. I was like, what the hell?

Most goals are scored from east-west passes. Big guys like him take away some of passing lanes and make less time and space down low. Harder for finesse forwards to score. I think Hughes didn't know. If only he read this board? I put it on here several times.

We’re so unbelievably stupid for passing on MM.
I'm willing to bet now that it's Mitchkov that made it clear we better not draft him.

Also we've seen plenty of rookie seasons that weren't followed by anything better.

Let's wait and see if he can keep it up. Anyways doesn't matter. Habs drafted a player who wanted to play for the club VS one that likely didn't.

We'll know one day.

The prevailing belief is that Kent Hughes got bullied and had his lunch ate by a teenager who doesn't even speak English. Oh my God, we're doomed.

Quit going Pvt Hudson on me here.

Michkov is awesome. Based on today, I understand the regret.

Declaring it a colossal mistake before RB has played a game though is silly. Talking about firing scouts when the guy hasn’t played yet is also silly.

It’s like hearing the opening argument in a trial from only one side and wanting to render a verdict.

I agree, Michkov has made a strong case for himself. Looks amazing. No matter what, we missed out on a great player. But I want to see what RB can do before pulling my hair out saying scouts need to be fired. That’s a reasonable position to take.

It's not silly, and I was one who was trying to talk people off the ledge about DR. DR was #6 for me. Michkov is just a different class of player, always has been, always will be.
