He's definitely taking the Calder home. Quite an impressive rookie season. What's more impressive is he's even good defensively at 5 vs 5 with 17 minutes of average ice time per game.

Definitely looks like a complete player to me.
Coming into today Hutson was only 5 points back of Michkov and ranks really highly in some cool numbers I posted earlier (taken from the main board). He deserves serious consideration. Cellebrini has been phenomenal as well. Awesome Calder year.

Its a bit annoying seeing you being the biggest groupie on here. Like boss man Huguhes and his crew cant make a mistake. They all do mistakes. No one is perfect. Not picking Michkov is a f***in lost if you are a true fan. Hell be a superstar offensively. We are enjoying our asses off Laine, and Michkov will produce more than him. On the other hand, Reinbacher has been injured for two years and has lost 2 preciouis years. And if erverythibg goes well, hell never have the same impact has a +1.0ppg player.
Michkov gave the indication that he only wanted to go to Philly, so I'm pretty sure that's why teams passed on him.

People gotta let it go as it seems more like Michkov made his decision like a few others have before.

It's not so much this was a mistake, but more like they didn't have an option.

He'll get an honorable mention, unless his 5 vs 5 play improves, potting goals and all.

I've lived long enough to not give trophies after 25 games. I remember the November Norris Weber won with us ...
2nd goal for Michkov today…

He’s killing it for me in the pool. I’ve got Hutson and Cellebrini too. Cellebrini hasn’t played a game for me yet but he’s giving me no choice but to play him.

Yep, refused to meet with teams, made it hard during the season to contact him, agent comes out and says he didn't want to play with Washington or Arizona, disrespected Washington's Russian scout, signed a 5 year deal with the SKA, contacted Philly specifically to meet them and then Briere sort of mentioning right after the draft the contract could be void. Sucks for us, SJ and Arizona, but he's easily living up to the hype. Insane talent.

Michkov seems better than bedard too so it is hilarious to me. Chicago completely gutted their team for the chance to get bedard when they'd be better off with some of the guys they dropped as insulating vets.

Glad bedard isn't generational because I hate Chicago.

Hate Philly too so it's very easy to root against michkov. I'm sure we'll regret it more than they regret York over Cole. At least York is a filler 2D. Reinbacher's not even certain to be an NHLer after his knee injury.

Gorton during the draft video that year said teams only get so many chances to add talent and it's now difficult to add them during UFA.

Said you pretty much have to draft or get lucky to get high end talent these days and sometimes you need to take a chance. Then said but it seems like this room doesn't seem to want to take this chance but he just wanted to make sure they were making the right decision.

Certainly sounds like he was likely talking about Michkov there to me.

He allegedly refused to meet with ARI and WSH’s scout allegedly didn’t like his vibe. That was the extent of the “narrative”.

The Habs could’ve picked him even if didn’t want to be picked (there is zero indication of this), hell, the Habs should’ve done a better job seducing him! The job is to improve the team ffs. Are we supposed to believe a teenager bullied the Habs organization into taking a B option?

Anyway…

The point is that we have no idea why they passed om Michkov. And there is no way to know if there are character issues or what he said to them. Since he told Utah to eff off there is a good chance he did the same to other teams. Why would he only care about Utah since he presumably expected to be gone before that pick.
Any argument that the pick was bad is premature and worthless until we see what both can do over 2 or 3 years and background on why the Habs passed on him

You’ve called him a cockroach and worse. You don’t have a point. It’s just nonstop weapon’s grade cope from you every time he scores.
