She used to do play by play. God it was awful. What does it matter? All she does is in game intevirews.

I know but they gave up on that pretty quickly. She used to do play by play. God it was awful.
I don't care for the league expanding, and I'd rather see Quebec city get a team before Atlanta...And that would’ve also been true 15 years ago, and it flat out didn’t work.
You sure about that...Nothing has changed.
Oh believe me, I hate the Bolts for that absolute garbage too. It goes utterly against the spirit of competition which is my issue. What's the point of cheering for a team while it goes through a crappy rebuild, hoping they can maybe win a Cup, only to have whichever team is the league's flavour of the year be allowed to flaunt rules as they please? This needs to be cleaned up ASAP before it continues ruining the sport. The Bolts had won a cup with a team that was like 18 million over the cap and they got far less shit than the Knights who I believe were cap compliant with their game 5 SCF lineup. I'm also not buying this "let's shut down our best player to get an advantage in the playoffs" mentality when they almost missed it. They don't make the playoffs without Eichel who was their MVP and they were desperately hoping he'd get back ASAP to avoid the skid.
Not to mention that players will put up with their injuries more in the playoffs. Look at Price and Weber who killed their careers playing through injuries in the finals run. Players won't put themselves through hell to get back and play meaningless regular-season games.
Can't believe they got back in it after going 2-7-1 during a crucial stretch.Jolly, Isles 1 period away from clinching!
I'm not going to hate on a team having the balls to add meaningful players. They are not breaking any rules. Why didn't someone else trade for Hertl?Probably because they didn't do their homework and didn't think he'd be available. I would only have an issue with this if another team did the same thing but the league looks into the player that team put on LTIR while avoiding doing it with the Knights. Again, the Knights put their best player on LTIR. This isn't putting a guy like Gallagher on LTIR to add a way better player.Oh believe me, I hate the Bolts for that absolute garbage too. Yes, it shows great determination! Imagine they enter the playoffs with a 10-0-0 record. Lou was under a momentary ascent of clairvoyance when he hired Roy.Can't believe they got back in it after going 2-7-1 during a crucial stretch.
I think it shows more how the other Eastern teams shit to bed lol.Yes, it shows great determination! Imagine they enter the playoffs with a 10-0-0 record. Lou was under a momentary period of clairvoyance when he hired Roy.

And.
Atlanta's population has grown by 1.5M since 2010...
That's like adding a Calgary, or two Winnipegs, in that time.
Context is important
You sure about that...
Might want to take a minute and think that one through
Every team can try to do what they do but can't, it's pure jealousy. Blame the league, not the team.
Yeah, it'd be tough to get tonnes of cash over the cap without it being one of your teams top players and thus top earners. This is blatantly unfair and a clear circumvention of rules and utterly against the spirit of the sport. Things like this only make the league more a joke and less interesting to watch.I'm not going to hate on a team having the balls to add meaningful players. They are not breaking any rules. It's also a great idea to replace Stone with 2 games of Hertl. That would be like replacing prime Price with 2 games of Montembeault as a wild card team.Yeah, it'd be tough to get tonnes of cash over the cap without it being one of your teams top players and thus top earners.
It's not unfair if other teams choose not to do the same thing. That's their loss. This is blatantly unfair
I'm doing everything possible to watch every Knights playoff game so I'm definitely more interested than ever. Don't really care about the Eastern teams.and a clear circumvention of rules and utterly against the spirit of the sport. How do you think growth happens? By acquiring new customers. The whole point is going to places where people « don’t give two shits about ice hockey » and turn them into fans. Just like they did in California, Florida, Nevada and many other places.Context IS important.
How much you want to bet that 1.5M that moved to *Atlanta* don’t give two shits about Ice Hockey?
The population of Atlanta doubled from the time the Flames relocated and the Thrashers were awarded a team.
So much for that argument.![]()

Some places are worth revisiting even if it didn’t work the first time, as long as they learn from their mistakes. I would be very surprised if there’s not another attempt in Arizona in the near future.
This thinking is exactly why Quebec City will never have another franchise; no new money.
People believed this lol
Again, might want to go look into this more before spouting off totally ungrounded takes built solely on emotional reactivity...Context IS important.

But you do you![]()
Exactly.Yes, my claim that a team won’t succeed in a market it has already failed in *twice* is ungrounded.
The business is not about actual fan interest, as long as corporate boxes & seats are sold and paid for. Pro sports is about using the pro sports team as a flow through share / a means of legalized money laundering - winning is a pure nicety and makes the few diehards happy.Context IS important.

Unfortunately that's where we're going to have to agree to disagree. Just because other teams can cheat the system doesn't make cheating the system fair. It's also a great idea to replace Stone with 2 games of Hertl. That would be like replacing prime Price with 2 games of Montembeault as a wild card team.

If a team can do something that every other team can also do at an equal level, then by definition it is fair.Unfortunately that's where we're going to have to agree to disagree. Just because other teams can cheat the system doesn't make cheating the system fair.
