Cooley is performing good for a rookie, Slaf is performing okay for a sophomore player.
Is Slaf really a true sophomore when he only played 39 nhl games last season?

Their production in November is pretty similar for two players that could have gone 1OA and who are both the same age.

To me it just sounds like you're being extra hard on Slaf.

Yes, he is.

Yes, and? Why is it his fault? The guy purposely took less money on his deal so that the team would have more wiggle room to help build a contender, you think he's telling them to hire his buddies at all cost? Think.
Saying someone is the problem doesn't mean it is their fault. It just mean they are the center of the issues. Oilers management and the owners makes stupid decisions to placate McDavid instead of just focusing on building the team.

A full clean-up of the Oilers management won't fix the problem, the owner and the boys club of the Oilers is supporting this.

That makes no sense. Saying someone is at fault or saying that someone is the problem is the same damn thing.

What you really should be saying is that the problem with the oilers is that management don't know how to build a team around McDavid.

You really have this one backward tho.

The Oilers aren't a competitive team without McDavid.

Oilers management are now hiring McDavid's "entourage" because for years they failed at building the team. It's not a great strategy because it really doesn't improve the situation they are in, but bad management have the tendency to come up with bad solution/strategy to fix their problems, so yeah...

Oilers MO is to hire McDavid entourage so he dosen't leave. Building a strong team would help them more but that ship has sailed.

Meanwhile they milk their fans with overpriced tickets and food like 2 soda and 2 pop corn bags for $40.

I had no idea it was that bad. $50 bucks for a couple pops and a couple burgers. Insane. People should boycott, go to media and everyone youtube and tiktok that crap. Don't feed the machine.

"at fault" is not the same thing as the problem. The problem is the cause, the cause here is not "people making stupid decision" (the at fault), it's the why those people are making those stupid decisions and the why is "placate McDavid".

I'm also disputing the idea that the Oilers management ever tried to build a team around McDavid, their scouting (pro and amateur) has been shit for 2+ decades and never improved.

Two blonde Margaritas?

More like two bland Margaritas.

The Molson family owns 1% of the company, large institutions own over 80%, Coors family over 10%, and private investment firms remainder

Well it doesn't stop them from serving nothing but Molson/Coors beer. How about some Quebec microbrews if we're charging so much?

$18 beers at the Bell Centre. It's gotten insane.
People have the power to f***ing boycott this. They do. Until they do, it won't change. But you can eat BEFORE the game. And drink AFTER. If the goal is to see those prices drop....stop using those concessions!

Unfortunately businesses now usually have a motto, "we don't do price decreases", unfortunate reality is it'll show a decline in margin which causes the premier investor to freak out

For all of the issues in Habs land, there is no greater embarrassment in hockey than how mismanaged the Oilers are.

It's actually cringe that they're giving office jobs to McDavid 's friends, what he probably wants is a winning team surrounding him. He's on track to turn into an also -ran of hockey history, closer to Jarome Iginla and Adam Oates than Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin.

And to be honest I genuinely don't see how they can build a good team around McDavid and Draisatl, certainly not this year and next. They have bad contracts and a shit farm system.

It's sad, but their best bet is to trade McDavid and Draisatl for futures, tank for two or three years, let the bad contracts run their course, and try to start winning around 2028.
