The top 14 teams all made the postseason this season, with the Edmonton Oilers, and their +2500 price, among those rounding out that group: Avalanche +500; Golden Knights +550; Lightning +600; Bruins +1400; Hurricanes +1400; Maple Leafs +1400; Canadiens +2000; New York Islanders +2000; Washington Capitals +2000; Oilers +2500; Florida Panthers +2500; Minnesota Wild +2500; and Pittsburgh Penguins +2500.
The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers, both at +3000, follow from there after disappointing seasons in which they did not qualify for the postseason.

Colorado will have some issues keeping that group together IMO. Too many of their best players are high draft picks and they lack playable ELC depth outside of Newhook and a still-raw Byram. Those type of guys always command a ton in their new contracts, and they have Makar AND Landeskog AND Grubauer to extend. I would not be terribly shocked if one of Landeskog or Grubauer is forced to walk in order to get their full asking price.

Yep. Tampa isn't getting worse despite everyone's hopes and dreams.
They'll take a step back. From just getting to the cap alone they'll have to get worse, even if that means they have to trade a great guy for picks and prospects, they're going to fall back some.

The question is how big a dropoff will that be? Their depth surely will take a bit of a hit. But will that be a hit to just being on par with the other best teams in the league (Colorado, Vegas, Carolina) or will it be a little more? Who knows.

One thing is for sure, that team doesn't give a f*** about being the villain in the new era of the NHL. Between their blatant cap circumvention to guys like Kucherov openly shit talking the fans of opposing teams in last night's press conference, they're very much a team you'll love to watch lose in the very near future.

Well, it was a fun playoff season! I wish all you Canes fans a pleasant off-season, I have a feeling it's going to be hectic one league wide. :D

I bet whatever Tampa does to get compliant won’t be nearly as painful as people think it will be. They’ll probably even get half decent value on whoever they sell off. They’ll be just as good next year. Full season of Kuch.
I’m with you on this. Their star players are still better than everyone else’s in crunch time and they have the best defenseman and the best goalie in the world. I uhhhh I think they’ll be fine.

And Kucherov’s presser was hilarious. Probably had two beers in 4 minutes and was hammered. Happens quickly after a game, so I’ve heard anyway.
