Same for me, there’s a handful of teams I like to watch and if they are all out I tend to loose interest.

Happy Coleman got another cup though. He was my fav player on the Devils (gfs fav team so I watch em a ton) so nice to see he’s doing well.

Just my opinion, the 2007 Senators were the weakest Finals team I've seen.
I... just can't agree with that take.

What it was however was a team without a lot of depth. They had one elite line but they just completely dismantled everyone in the East on the way to the SCF and were a top 10 team in the regular season. They ran in to the worst possible matchup they could get against Anaheim.

I would easily take them over, say, the 2012 Devils or this years Habs.

I think each of the first 3 series went only 5 games. You are correct that it wasn’t a particularly deep team but Heatley-Spezza-Alfie was a crazy good line. Didn’t remember that Heatley was the leading point getter on the team that year with 105 points.

it also didn’t help that we didn’t have a goalie capable of stealing games. Emery was…ok. Not bad, not great. Beside Giguere he was clearly the second best goalie in the series. And, as the kids like to say, it’s not even close.

I guess I should clarify, it was more the Ducks out-matching them than the team itself. Right away I could tell the Ducks were going to wrap up the series in 5 or less.

The Kucherov thread (the one about Montreal fans) on the playoff board is a great read

Habs match up well vs teams with only one offensively talented center. Just put DD vs him and hope their bottom 9 is better. Any team with two top 6 Cs that have good offense would be rough for them.

Yep. Have to think that whatever of the three top Central teams won and got to the final four would have been the end for them.

Florida would have at least been fun hockey with a bunch of 5-3, 6-4 type games but the Panthers depth would have won out in 6 or so. Canes would have been similar suffocation to what Tampa did, with the scores more like 3-2, 3-1 w an empty netter because we hate doing things the easy way, but same result of Canes in 5.

They got extremely lucky to get that far. The Leafs Leafed harder than they have ever Leafed at any other point in my life after the Tavares injury. Scheifele tried to impersonate f***ing Vontaze Burfict meets Dale Hunter on the only time he back checked in the past 3 seasons, taking himself out for the series. And Vegas has shit center depth which, with Price going full cheat code in that series, allowed them to somehow escape. My only question when Tampa beat the Isles was if Price could push the series to 5 games... The answer was yes.

If they truly are interested in Hall like the rumours say then we may not have seen how hard they can leaf.

Only Dubas could look at that roster and conclude that’s what they need to do.

I don't know where or how, but that statement needs to be resurrected at some point. Although, the Ayres game still might represent the Leafs Leafing hardest to me. I guess it comes down to how you weight the playoffs factor vs. losing to a Zamboni driver.

The Ayers game was the most Leafs, leafing it up thing ever but the stakes werent quite as high as this Leaf job.

Actually the fulling saying is great but I am going to start referring to things as Leaf jobs.

This starts sounding like the X/Y coordinated valuation of poetry in Dead Poets' Society that Robin Williams told them to rip off from the book.

Pic poster above is referring to

I struggle in trying to separate my personal dislike for what Tampa did with Kucherov versus what could be considered crafty gamesmanship.

I don't know though. Kucherov, healthy and ready to play, knew that he had to conspire with team doctors to lie about his health in order to stretch his recovery to the exact day at which it would allow his team to bypass the CBA through a loophole. There is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that this violates the spirit of the Cap. Should Kucherov feel any concept of honor or professionalism in this case? Clearly he doesn't, but should he?
