If Cameron continues to push Foster as a centre, I guess we aren’t short down the middle next year….

Cameron did say that Foster was our best centre, right before the trade deadline. I thought that was odd given how little Foster had actually played at centre so far this season, but I guess we're seeing the outcome of that thought process in the line construction now.

Nevertheless, we may need to see Foster AND Gardiner spend some time at centre in the next little bit depending on Kressler's status. This is nothing more than speculation at this point, but some time in concussion protocol seems to be the bare minimum at this point. Egregious non-call and a suspendable play imo.

I don’t think it was a malicious hit. But, at the same time, you need to be held responsible when the hit is bad. I see a suspension coming almost certainly.

With any luck, Kressler only loses a week.

Is there video of the hit on Kressler? I admit I didn't see it at the game as I was watching play in front of the net at the time. Hope he's OK.

Where Foster plays next year is going to a certain point on what we have, obviously, barring trades or drafting a Euro that is OHL-ready. Foster will start next year as the 1st or 2nd line center.

Kressler will take his time getting back in the line up after all. The last thing that he is going to want is to screw things up for his future.

Guessing the Schmidt suspension is from the Kressler hit?

When did it happen in the game?

Schmidt is now on Kingston and was suspended six games for attacking a player who wasn't fighting back in the Oshawa game. (Two games were for exceeding the three fight limit).
Ahhh that's right.

Who hit Kressler?

Happened at the same time. The hooking was as noted by the face off dot but the hit was behind the net. Should have been 2 penalties.
That is why I thought it was Misaljevic as I seen him get a penalty but I was not really concentrating on the game. Just hope Kressler can return and has no long term affects from the hit.

Yeah, it was definitely Savard. Misaljevic was out covering the point and got walked, so had to hook. Not sure Misaljevic has thrown any hits this year, so the odds of him doing it are very low.

I saw that assault. If he did it in the street, he'd be looking at jail time. The other player was down on the ice and Schmidt punched him several times in the back of the head. Six games is a gift.

I would be extremely surprised if you found any Kingston fan that knows anything about hockey that thought that he didn't deserve to be suspended.

That said - this is no where near a fair representation - there were 3-4 gloved shots to a turtled General (hands covering the back of his head), so the actual impact wasn't that bad. The intent was there so I've got no issue with the 4 games.

I was a little surprised they called it fighting with no gloves off, if anything it seemed more like a 5 minute roughing major, but either way - it was called fighting so it was his 3rd fight of the year so he got an extra 2 on top of the 4 for the incident.
