Yeah aside from the Butler hit we got the best of the calls tonight and yes Beck has been struggling a bit lately although he's still getting his points. Mostly assist but having trouble finding the back of the net. Not sure why, I'm sure it will come though just too talented.
Yeah I couldn't believe only 6 goals. His shot is way too good for 6 goals in 34 games. I assumed Calgary would sign him for sure coming into this year but good news for you guys now is there's a pretty decent chance he goes unsigned and is back next yaer

Injury update from the coach. Barlas returning to full contact practice tomorrow so he's close. Sirman being further evaluated today but he said it doesn't appear to be anything long term

In terms of magic numbers, I count six to wrap up the conference, and 8.5 to wrap up the OHL title overall. We have played the same number of games as both North Bay and London - we are ten points up on North Bay, and five up on London. Therefore, any combination of Ottawa wins and North Bay losses adding up to six gives us the Eastern Conference, and any combination of Ottawa wins and London losses totaling 8.5 gives us the league title...

Boucher back tonight?

We have to wonder what the injuries did to him. People can say he is healed and came back but there is a difference. He was off a long time with the concussion and I am sure that that is one of the reasons that Calgary is not willing to put his name on a contract.

A lot is going to depend on what he does in the playoffs. In best case scenario he has a long playoff run and shows something and then gets a chance to play for the wranglers in the AHL.

Tale of 2 players

I was just looking at the AHL it is interesting

Noel was thought to at best be an ECHL defenceman

MDP was earmarked as the Canucks goalie of the future.

Noel is the top D on the Marlies and top 10 in the AHL

MDP is in the ECHL with the Bruins farm team fighting to get back.

yup..Amazing AHL numbers by Hoef , including the team leading 101 PIMS !! .. lol. I, for one, didn’t see that coming . (His skating was hard to look at here in Ottawa :) Thought he’d max out in the East Coast and then head off to the U and study for a career . Now , Im guessing hes going to get his shot on the big dance floor at some
point . Textbook example of heart and determination. Many of the guys that end up making it simply ‘will’ themselves to get there over the more skilled players . He looks to be one of them . Good for him

Isn't that interesting. You're absolutely right - Hoef got overlooked in the draft, signed by no one, and has had to claw his way up in the minors one rung at a time. Mikey DP was the Golden Child goaltending prospect, but has had a star crossed pro career. (It started in a very inauspicious manner when the Canucks played him as a rookie, and he got absolutely shelled in his first NHL game.) It just shows you that where you're drafted isn't everything, and you don't have to accept the label others put on you...

Oh, and no Logan Morrison tonight either in Kingston...

Boucher not on the bench for the 3rd
Yeah noticed that and Barlas went off holding his arm...not good. Hopefully nothing serious for Boucher, but I saw nothing of concern. But who knows at this point with Bouch.

I think this is Morrison's weekend off. Let's face it if we need him against Kingston the way they are playing, we are in trouble.
I would expect that last few games to see everyone on their lines playing.

Sirman is the one that I am interested in seeing where he fits.
There are 2 interesting weekends coming up home and home with Oshawa and Petes. Both of those could be playoff partners.

Cameron is not going to take any chances with players at this point; the games are really nothing games. e need to win 5 games to ensure home ice for the OHL playofffs

I fear that there nothing but really bad news on the Boucher front. I heard Morrison is being held out for the week or so to deal with a minor injury but nothing serious. Cameron isn’t going to push these guys too hard with the standings where they currently are.

I’ve heard nothing on Barlas or Sirman.

Foster had a great game today and Gerrior has been flying out there the past few weeks, so that’s good news.
