Shhh! You might get your wish four times in round one of the playoffs :)
The ‘67s would probably much prefer Kingston though. I think the wolves could prolong that series and cost the ‘67s a physical toll they can not afford.

I think once the teams have all settled in with their new rosters, the top 4 shouldn’t have much of an issue with 5-8. Maybe some certain matchups may not be ideal for particular teams but it would be tough for any of the 5-8 teams to honestly give the top 4 much trouble. Maybe the 4-5 series will be Tighter because Barrie didn‘t really do much.

In the playoffs thread, I had a tough time trying to figure out 5-6-7 In the East. I felt Kingston was likely going to hold their ground best. They added assets for Wright and Wright wasn’t int heir lineup so you could almost consider them a neutral team. Arcuri and Hache out, Miedema in. Where I had the hard time was Mississauga and Subdbury. Missy has the advantage of extra points in the standings and they did get a couple good young players back but deleting three big boys won’t help them. In the end, I felt the points gap would hold but I think if we were looking at it front he perspective of total points int he 2nd half, I‘d have leaned towards Sudbury. I felt they underachieved in the first half.

I have Sudbury in the 7 seed round one. I think it would be a fun series if it were against NB. I think Hamilton and Ottawa will meet in round one.

Good luck tomorrow! Should be an entertaining game. Sucks u guys are down some bodies, but you have elite depth so definitely not out of it.

I’m expecting a strong bounce-back game for Ottawa tomorrow. Missing some key players should result in some of our secondary guys sharpening their focus and raising their games in their absence. I’d like to see a tighter lineup from Cameron tomorrow, looking to solidify those top 2 defense pairings. And another game with Mintyukov on the ice with our guys developing chemistry and learning how to play with and complement him.

Sarnia doesn’t roll through here often so I’m looking forward to seeing them play with their post-deadline roster. Should be a good crowd out tomorrow too. It’ll be fun.

I don't see Cameron rushing anyone back to the roster. This team has shown that without Vinnie Matier Boucher and Morrison, it can win the big games. With Beck back as well as Minty this is a better team than we had during the WJHC, and we found ways to win.

I think they are going to make sure that everyone is 100% healthy. A player with a sore shoulder will be given the time to let it fully heel as an example.
Let's face it this team can win with what we have dressed. We need these players healthy not for the regular season but for the playoffs.

Yes I want to finish first but I also do not want to enter the playoffs with players that are hurting or less than 90%. That is what killed the playoffs for a lot of the 67's teams in the past.

My only thought on Friday's game was the same that I have at any of these "Legend" games: the home team usually craps the bed. Hamilton comes into town with one of its team dads signing autographs on the concourse for added motivation. The home team seems distracted and unfocused. This is where Cameron earns his pay. Maybe find competent officials, but I digress (Wednesday's refs were worse).

Those were the days, no? Nobody invading your space. Walk right up to the concessions. All the staff knew your name. You could bug Percy to give you the signed program to get the prizes or go on the ice for the shootout. hearing the coaches loud and clear from across the ice. Good times.
It was awful. Fire a cannon down the concourse and hit someone through pure luck. Let's be honest, even with a full house, you could hear Killer yelling at the current skating group to "GET OFF!!" Or when Bjorn Skaare broke his stick defending a 5 on 3 and raced to the bench to get a new one, leaving a 5 on 2. Could definitely hear Killer then.

Barrie added Savard, Hache, and Clarke to a roster that was playing 0.600; that in most years would be considered loading up.

I don’t see a serious threat to any of the top four in round one. But I do think Hamilton and Sudbury can make some games interesting like the ‘67s did last year round one. The key will be coming out of round one no worse for wear. That might be a problem against one of those two teams. I think Hamilton will finish 5-7 with one of KGN or Miss or SBY not finishing well settling into the final playoff spot.

I remember a time many moons ago when the 67s came to KTown for a game. Losing 2 zip after the first period. Killer went up and sat in the stands with Ranger fans across the rink from where we sat. Basically said they could coach themselves. The Rangers never got another sniff. 67s won 4-2 I believe.:)

I can see that. When he was really pissed, he'd stay on the bench for the intermission and let the team captains straighten things out.

I think Kingston will beat a lot of the poor teams. I think their goaltending is solid overall. They still have some good pieces That will play well against similar competition. Plus, they are almost done against Ottawa so there is that….

Zhigalov might be the only above replacement level 19 yr old remaining on the roster, and he will only play ~67% of the games. KGN must have 12-14 born 2005-06 on their 22-23 player roster. I can see KGN backing into the 7-8 seed and be the weakest play off team in the conference.

Gotta assume maybe Mayich and Kelly. They were out on Friday. Kenny had them as a healthy scratch on his lineup sheet but maybe they were sick?
Flu is in the room. Many guys feeling under the weather today that we’re game time decisions

Vaccari is a really good goalie. He comes up with some big saves. Not a bad save% on a below average team that gives up higher quality scoring opportunities.

Miedema may not be as good as Arcuri but he is a viable replacement. They added Lemieux. Again, not as good but he is theoretically a replacement for Hache. Wright wasn’t playing so that doesn’t affect their standing.

I think they had a strong deadline. Assuming the Hache conditionals are him returning as an OA and he does return, the Fronts get 5x 2nds, 3x 3rds, 3x 4ths and 2x 5ths. They got marginally weaker in two positions. Let’s call the Stewart for Uens deal a trade off but I think Uens is a pretty good young D-Man. Moves really well.

The Fronts may have had a slightly elevated first half but I think with the moves they made at the deadline, they probably won’t be much worse for wear in the grand scheme of things.

Hamilton added Panwar and Lardis to replace Morrison and Hayes. No disrespect to Panwar and Lardis but that is a pretty big gap on a team that wasn’t scoring from other sources. That doesn’t account for White. Over the last 30 games, we will start to see them slide quite a bit regardless of what we’ve seen over the first few games.

Niagara is clearly out of it. The fight for 8-9 is likely Hamilton and Oshawa. Sudbury is probably a better team than both Kingston and Mississauga but I’m not sure if they will catch them in the standings.

But, ultimately I agree. I’d be shocked if any of the top 4 lose more than one game. To be truly honest, I’d be surprised to see the four collectively lose 2 games. If I had to place a bet, I‘d lean on that series to go 16-0.

Looks like the scratches are:

Smyth - Mono
Mews - Suspension
Boucher - Injury
Morrison - Injury
Pinelli - Sick
Rohrer - Injury

So, looks like 6 guys out based on the lineup posted on the OHL Site.

Horner inserted last minute

Looks like we are up for another fun one….

We’ve had too much of this to date. Hopefully by the end of this week they will have caught all the viruses out there and will be immune the rest of the season.

Flu goes through the room twice in one year? JEZUS!

Let’s hope Donoso has a really good game. Sarnia will be buzzing today with the loss to Kingston on Friday.
