The Gerrior goal was sick!
With only 3 forward lines for the last several game, Gerroir has been invaluable to this team. Relentless, fast, energy, forecheck, and now on the scoresheet. Other players must hate playing him.
That kid never looks tired out there.

Any word on beck? I think the longer he is out, the more likely it is that he is done for the year. This was not just a concussion but has by the looks of it had lingering effects that will mean he is done.

Word around town is this weekend. Hopefully Thursday.

I imagine we will be without Rohrer, Matier, and Boucher on Thursday and Friday in Barrie and Niagara. I assume they will get the day off on Friday as a travel day.

As close to a full lineup likely Sunday. It’s been a long time without a full lineup. Smyth will still be out but 19/20 starters isn’t bad. 26 game straight without a full lineup Heading into next Sunday.

What type of lineup are we rolling out on Sunday with everyone healthy except Smyth

Barlas-Gardiner-Gerrior
Dever-Foster-Kelly

Mayich-Matier
Sirman-Costantini
Marrelli-Mews

If I had to make a best guess, that’s the lineup. But just a best guess. That also assumes the WJHC players don’t get the full weekend off which is possible.

I'd imagine this would be rather close if not spot on for when we return to close to our 'complete' lineup (before additions). It'll be nice to see the team back with all their top fire power although major kudos to the 'young guns' holding down the fort while some of our best players were missing. Very impressed with different players stepping up on different nights.

As for Beast, let's leave the at-home diagnostics for the docs. If Beck were to be out long-term aka full season, it'd have been announced and would've forced their hand to have already made a deal by now. As mentioned above, the word is he's hopefully returning this weekend which will be a huge addition as we await the return of our WJHC players.

At this point, It's exciting, but nerve-wracking waiting on the possible trades. Many rumblings sound great but not all will come to fruition. It will be very interesting to see how this lineup looks in a few weeks.

We’re waiting to see when Canada gets eliminated.

That’s when decisions have to be made for Wright and Clarke and when it free‘s up HC players to be traded that are in the WJC.

Rohrer scores for Austria, they lead 2-1 after 1 in the relegation game

I would like to give this a look. It allows everyone to play their positions & not play the off wing. First two lines are the same. 3rd line puts Gerrior over on the left side where he’s actually a left handed shot & most comfortable even though I know he can play the off wing. Puts Dever on the 3rd line on the right side where him & Gerrior & Gardiner are all great skaters and can all keep up to one an other and just really work other teams. This is a deep hockey team when everyone is healthy to see foster & Barlas on a 4th line with what they have done this year feels outrageous. I think the way Barlas has played this year this kid can be a 4th line hero where he goes out there & just grinds the gears of other players and can also play special teams as he is a great PK player. I think this is the best spread out of 4 lines I can come up with. It will be Interesting to see what happens but seems like quick & laforme have a week left on this team even if Ottawa adds one forward with picks it bumps Kelly to the 13th forward Quick to the 14th & Laforme to the 15th I just don’t see where they fit after this weekend Quick may as well go development more in Jr & come back next year. while laforme can hopefully get an opportunity else where.

I think Laforme will be a kick in to a trade to give him a place to play. Quick will likely go to Tier II. Kelly may also go to Tier II and practice with the 67’s. Get called up when needed. He would basically be with the 67’s but play his games in Tier II. IT will depend on which bodies get moved in trades etc. we could see the same with Ewles and MArrelli depending on what happens on the back end. I doubt we go through this deadline without moving players but we shall see.

I made a point a couple weeks ago that Barlas is an important player. He is close to a point per game since he shifted to Wing. As you said, he is solid on the PK and for some reason he has a lot of players going after him. He must be subtly happy and chippy. He always seems to have at least one player on the opposing team after him. We were calling for him to shift to the wing last year. It is too bad it took so long.

The reality is, this lineup won’t stay like this for longer than Sunday anyway. You have to think there will be at least a Centre added. The added centre would likely drop Gardiner to 4th line with Barlas. Foster would likely move up to the wing.

Rohrer maybe back after wednesday, Austria lost 5-2 today in the best of 3 relegation battle with Latvia

Why is it that we haven't made a trade now that the holidays are over....seriously we can't be getting all world junior players....I'm not even sure we need those players there is enough good talent that we can just use picks for....let's go JB get on it...today.

We are all waiting for the shoe (aka Wright) to drop. That will establish the market for centers and the resultant fallout from there.

Must say I'm surprised by this return for winterton. No doubt great player when healthy but to give up a first rounder?? Not londonlike! If Winterton fetches a first rounder what about Harrison etc.. Interesting. At least things are starting to move.

In fairness, Humphrey is a solid player in his own right. The depth of centre on Hamilton is pretty weak. If he has a decent centre to play with, he is a point per game winger the rest of the season.

I’m not sure Testa was going to fall into the category of some of the other first rounders. I don’t think he’d be a solid contributor as a 17 year old, maybe at 18. So two seasons of Testa for two half seasons of Humphrey and Winterton isn’t bad. Only one 2nd rounder added to the mix.

If Winterton returns in good form, he’s a really solid player. The question is what f he can stay healthy…

Is Beck back and playing now?
Looks like this weekend for his return. I know a lot of us are anxious to get him back and in form. I think it is safe to say that many of us feel he is our best forward. We’ve had some solid play from a lot of players but when Beck gets on a roll, he is effective at both ends of the ice and popping goals.
