Seemed pretty even to me. You could say Ottawa got away with their share as well. PPs were 2 vs. 3 with both teams scoring a PP goal. Kudos to the video guy for emphasizing the calls they missed for the 67s. Reminded me of the Bills video guy who would slow down all the plays on the fly to help the coaches determine whether to challenge.
I realize that I'm biased as a 67 fan but I have to disagree with you. I have to go with what my eyes see. It's not just the last game but the season as a whole. As I've mentioned before it's not I generally disagree with the calls on us but I'm seeing too many missed blatant calls on our opponents. I've been following the poles for 22 years and I don't recall seeing a stretch like this. I fully understand that some games the calls go against you but it usually evens out over a period but until now this year has been a bit much for me. Hell it could just be a bad stretch and at the thirty game mark all will be well!

Good for them, probably will not be there in the end but it should instiil some confidence for this young team. Proves they can compete with anyone within the division prior to teams upgrading via trade.

Yeah, that’s fair. I definitely agree with you that they should have called a couple more on Kingston, but I would have also called Ottawa for another as well if I was the ref. I imagine it will improve as it goes along…the refs are probably still working out the kinks a bit as well after a year off.

Refereeing in the O has always been hit and miss. Ottawa even under Killer with all the respect and gravitas that he had used to be called a lot. The challenge that was explained to me by I think it was Coleman not sure is that certain teams have a habit of doing things and automatically get called at the beginning of the season to get the message across. Examples from my time were David Bell, Oduya and Galbraith. There were times that they just looked at players and they got penalties.
Cameron does not have the gravitas to talk to the refs like Tourigny or Killer did and get away with it.

IMHO the refs are doing the 67's a favour by calling them so much hope it makes them realize that they have to play clean games.
I would rather see the team not ranked in the top 10. That will bond the team remember one of the things that drive and bond a team is always being the underdog or not being given the right amount of credit.

They are not ranked in the top 10, but honourable mention which can also make them strive to move upward. Recognition can also help all these young kids and make them feel like they may really belong in this league. Positive results and acknowledgement has never been known as negative factors.

Totally agree, they were outclassed, could not complete passes and had very few dangerous shots. Spent most of the night trying to retrieve the puck.

Do not know why Ranger was the 1st star?

Dangerous shots hell they had few shots 19 should be a period total not a game total.

Then again a lot of rookies and Sirman looked like a lost rookie on at least one of the goals and the defence looked lost.

They need to get beck back into the lineup and get some set lines and stay with them.
We knew they were not going to be an offensive powerhouse this year but they need to tighten up the defensive play.

Sirman to me has not looked great in the past few games, gets knocked off the puck easily and does some ill advised passes when in their defensive zone. Belanger or an OA defenseman could sure help to solidify the back end.

I agree they sure need Beck back and also try to stabilize the forward lines. I like what I have seen from Rohrer, Gaidamak and even young Barlas. On the other hand I do not see what Varga brings to the team. Leadership?

The Steelheads had some really big defensemen. Given we are a relatively small team, we did not matchup very well against them. There was no going to the middle with them out there. Shots weren't getting through either.
I think that team will give us problems through the year.

You are right Sirman does get knocked off the puck easily. However he's a very good puck handler and I've been impressed by his edges. Once he gets a bit stronger he could be a big factor the next few years. I also advocated for an OA D a few weeks ago but let's not forget Belly will be back soon which could be a big difference. As for Varga I agree, the kid is a hard worker and will go through a wall but does he warrant an OA spot??

Very good point I also do not think we march up well against Missy. We are young and talented but not big and Missy played to their strenghts...well coached team.

What a difference a day makes much better effort and we took over in the third even after a game and long bus ride. Typical of the last few years. Cranley really settled us down. Gaidamack a stud today and Pinelli a very good game. Nice to see the kids ..Pinelli, Stonehouse putting it in. Barlas is next.

Interesting how we are talking about deficiencies in this team.

How many of would have expected this team to be the 3rd best in the league?

I never would have expected them to have been a ything more then 6th in the east to be honest.

What a pleasant surprise so far, and hope that they only get better with more experience. They have definitely drafted well.

Human nature I guess and we all want the club to get better. That being said way more positives than negatives.

I guess when you see them obtain a certain level of success you hope they do not start to decline. I can see them drop in the standings as the season progresses and these young guys start to feel the long grind.

A bit of size and an accomplished OA would be welcome additions.

Overall doing very well and I hope they can keep up this level of play.
