This could in a round about way make Justin Braun available and I'm already driving Connor Brown to the airport

That is it...?

That is all the Sharks had to give up to get the best defencman of his generation at age 28?

Wow... Ottawa got hosed. The Sharks are going to be beasts next year.

Sens want to tank and rebuild. This trade allow them to do it. Its as good a package as you were going to get for a one year rental.

But they don't have their own first rounder . Starting the tank early to improve Colorados chance for a high draft pick makes no sense.

I've literally been a die-hard Hawks fan for my entire whole life but this move kind of makes me curious about becoming a full-on Sharks fan because moves like the literally don't happen more then once in a big blue moon. Pretty exciting day I'm sure for all those San Joseians.

Does it make sense for Karlsson to sign an 8 year deal with the Sharks if their core is aging with not many prospects coming up? I bet he still wants to go to Tampa when he hits UFA.

I dont see how this is a bad trade for the Sens.

They got back a recent 2017 1st rounder, s 2019 1st and 2nd, 25 year old Tierney coming off a 40pt year, a 24 year old defenseman coming off a shortened 20pt year and two lottery players for ONE season of Erik Karlsson.

They got a player who was a 2017 1st round pick... who is still playing NCAA, and if Ottawa continues to be a tire fire, may elect to become a UFA at the end of his Collegiate career. Maybe he becomes a #2C.....

Tierney is meh. D man is meh.

The DID NOT get a 2019 1st... it's a 2020 1st.... probably late 20's.... 2nd IS 2019, probably late 50's.... This is just meh..

No high end players, prospects, or picks back....

This years first is gone. No use dwelling over it.

Holy shit is Dorion awful. The Duchene trade looked bad when Ottawa was looking pretty good - it just got a whole lot worse as they continued to fall apart. Now? Goodness.

Tavares would have cost nothing but cap space, but this is an even better addition.

Hats off to Doug Wilson for making this happen. Sharks window just got extended indefinitely.

The Sharks better go "all in" this year.... I don't think EK signs long term there....

If he goes to UFA, prepare for another bidding war....

It is honestly hard to believe what they ended up paying for 2 seasons of Matt Duchene was greater than what they got for Erik Karlsson.
What a gong show.

based on the sens return and no extension signed I do agree I think EK goes elsewhere. but kudos to the sharks for taking a chance.
