Again, it's been said repeatedly since then and yet their window has remained open and as they continue to acquire players like Karlsson, it will remain open. The Sharks have never had an elite prospect pool. It's not a requirement for contention status. If Karlsson extends with the Sharks, they will remain contenders for quite some time. Enough time to address other things that come up.

Anyone blaming EK for anything is a moron. EK should have got out of a long time ago. Too good for that team. I'm happy he's out even though I really hope he doesn't stay in SJ. Karlsson deserves to be on a top-tier team, in a top-tier organization. Signing in Detroit next offseason would be ideal and give him a chance to cement his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

I somewhat agree, but still, that was McDonagh, not Karlsson. And I don't think we ever looked at him like a rental. So the returns are pretty similar.
