Christian Braun for example has been one of the best defenders on the Nuggets this season, but he is bottom 3 on the team in individual defensive rating. However, it can also show that Bones Hyland is far from what he needs to be defensively right now. His individual DRTG of 123.6 is the highest on the team, and would be the worst defense in the league by 5 points.

Bones also has the worst defensive EPM (estimated plus-minus, which is an impact metric from dunksandthrees.com) in the league. He’s been among the worst defenders in the league, not just a below average one. At this point, a lot of the defensive struggles can be pinpointed to lineups at least including Bones.

Sean Payton’s apparently tabbed Vic as his DC. I gotta think that puts the nail in the coffin of Payton coming here. I think Payton’s headed to Dallas or Carolina. And if Payton goes to Dallas then Paton is probably gonna hire Quinn which sucks (I’m not a fan at all of another DC hire).

I can't see them going D hire if they make a move. Payton seems a pipe dream, they won't want to give up a 1st for him. Feels like either they get Reich or Caldwell and try to keep Evero.

I’m not certain there has been a worse trade in any sport since I started following all the major ones three decades ago. This is a failure of epic proportions that the Broncos will have to spend the rest of this decade climbing out of. I still find it shocking how long this is going to take to overcome.
