I would say that there is a real possibility that the new ownership could completely clean house. The people in place now were not chosen by them, and this horrible season might be all the proof they need to make changes.
Could happen but I would say far from certain.i don't know if people are at the anybody but him stage for Paton like they are for Hackett. Perception matters too, what high quality executive is going to want this job if they clean house? Going to be a massive overpay and give someone a longer deal to take it. Or they get some retread who failed elsewhere to get another shot. And the blow it up movement makes little sense to me. The impatient fan base wants a winner but do they want to wait through another 3 year rebuild?

The owners I’m gonna guess are gonna give these guys one more year until they get their feet wet… much like they did to squash rumors of a new stadium.. just my guess… Wilson, patin, hacker should all be fired though

No way they can keep Hackett. He's proven his play calling incompetence multiple times this season. Patton may survive and they need someone to salvage their investment in Wilson.

I could see them making a splash and making an offer for Sean Payton who will probably want his own guy as GM, in which case bye bye Paton.

The defensive staff should stay.

I like what Paton has done especially in the draft the past 2 years. He might get fired but there's also a chance they replace him with someone a lot worse. The only thing I don't like about what Paton has done is the hiring of Hackett. Even the Wilson extension - with his track record - was hard to foresee that he would fall off by that much.

I can't imagine Hackett stays. At first, I really didn't notice who all the other coaches were but when I found out he basically filled a staff full of buddies with almost no experience, I've been on the fire this idiot ASAP train.

A good leader will find people that will use their strengths to complement them in areas where they are weak. He didn't do that at all. He got a bunch of his friends with no more than 1-2 years of experience just so no one with more experience could challenge him on anything.

There's also the chance they can replace him with someone much better. Now we know they can't get worse than Hackett since the Raiders are locked into McDaniels for a few years.

Not upgrading on Gordon was a disaster.

That's true. They should never have re-signed him to begin with and then stayed with him for like 7-8 weeks too long.

Who was available as an upgrade? Akers?

They didn't really HAVE to "upgrade" on Gordon, just find a warm body, any body, to fill in that backup RB slot. It wasn't just the fumbles, it was when he did them, he picked the worst possible times to lose the football.

Doubling down on him was a fatal error and should cost Paton his job.

The team needs a new culture desperately.

I don’t know why they’d want to continue the status quo. I have no idea what the status quo of this team actually is. Losing? Making meme coaching quotes? Death By Inches/Let’s Ride/Really Awesome Practices? Continuing to pump out draft losers at every spot except OLB? I don’t know that this club has any identity.

I do know that this owner has a lot of money - he is by far and away the richest owner in the league. If he wants to change the organization, he will be able to pay whatever it’s going to cost to do that. Part of the reason I think they haven’t done anything yet is because they’re putting in the frameworks of the organization at the top.

Never been able to stand Deion as a egomaniac, but if you take the Pepsi challenge with him and Prick Neuweasel or Gary Barrnet I'm sure he's a better person.

Oof. Slick Rick. Barnett wasn’t much better.

I remember having to interview Marcus Houston and Craig Ochs for my college newspaper. Both were really nice and generous with their time. When both ran into conflicts with the coaching staff I naturally took their side.

Wow! This is great, but I won't believe it until the contract is signed though.
It's done

Like I mentioned before, bringing Deion means CU is finally getting serious about athletics. Who knew, getting a president who understands how important athletics is actually imporant!

The rumored staff looks promising, which means RG isn't forcing Deion to keep certain guys on the staff just like he tried to do with Sark
