I will say, it’s kind of crazy that we have Russell Wilson and he may be the 3rd best QB best QB in the division. I mean the fact that Carr is the worst QB in the division by a decent margin is also wild.

I'm not even worried about who is the best QB. You just have to have one in the top 10 to compete for a title. The Chiefs roster is declining, they are going to have trouble keeping up as the cost to pay their trio of stars is cutting off their ability to spend elsewhere. The Raiders are a mess, as they should be, with not a whole lot to get excited about across the roster and all those blown 1st round picks biting them in the ass. The Chargers probably are best positioned with the Broncos to improve and be an elite power, but the bill for Herbert is coming soon.

Plus most exciting is Russ is the king of the deep pass right now and he's got a bunch of weapons who could be elite at that. Sutton and Patrick are great at winning battles for the deep ball and Hamler can blow by defenders to make those plays as well. I think Jeudy should be in the slot getting the underneath stuff and getting a lot of first downs. When you have a QB so much just seems possible. Pair him with a good offensive mind and get him away from "pound the rock" Pete and this feels like a pathway just opened.

Russ was complaining about getting pounded behind that Seahawks O-line though and I can't say ours is a strong suit either. We definitely need to make that a priority in the draft or through another trade.

I’m not saying it’s a problem. More just pointing out the ridiculous talent at QB in the division.

Even in a down year playing through an injury he put up a 25/6 TD/INT ratio and a 103.1 QBR. Just maintaining that line would produce the best QB play since Manning and it's not close.
You're not wrong, but I was thinking more long term with my statement. Unless we win a SB right out of the gate. The it would be highway robbery. We can't draft and Fant was often injured. So that would be HUGE.

Wilson's play last year has me a little worried, but if he returns to form, this will be huge for us.

I'm not as worried after reading this, seems like it was injury impact. Plus don't undervalue the negative impact of having Carroll and his insistence on running the ball more than anyone else in the league on his numbers over the last few years. Every season we heard they were going to let Russ cook and by December the Seahawks were a run first team yet again.

Now Bobby Wagner released. LOB era is officially over. Seattle in full rebuild mode.

A 32 year old Safety is pretty much done while a 33 year old QB is in the middle of his prime years. That's football for you.

At first I thought the trade was way too much. Then I realized:

- Noah Fant sucks and can't stay healthy
- Drew Lock is a perennial backup QB
- Shelby Harris can be easily replaced in the draft/free agency
- Next year's 1st round pick SHOULD be in the late 20s/early 30s if all goes well for the Broncos with Wilson at the helm

Losing the picks hurts but they're just picks. Wilson - who I'm not a fan of at all - gives this team the best chance to win of all the QBs that were available. Kudos to Paton for going out and getting the job done. Now the Broncos abundance of skilled playmakers have a legit QB to get them the ball.

The players given up don’t mean much. Fant was a former first rounder but hasn’t played up to his draft position.
9th OA pick is key. Seattle needs to take the best player available. Figure their top 3 selections will be OT/DE/CB whomever are the best when they go to pick.
Next seasons picks hard to know. Outside of Jets, Jags and Texans you can make a case for any team to make the playoffs.
Pitt needs a game manager to pair with that defence.
Browns with a healthy Baker.
Miami, new offensive HC to help Tua.
The other 9 clubs have a legit and capable QB.
Playoffs are not a slam dunk. AFC is stacked. If Denver was in the nfc I would put money on them making the playoffs given the lack of higher end QB talent.

reports out this AM that Wilson only wanted to be traded to Denver

If he signs an extension (as Klis is reporting he will), this is a slam dunk for the Broncos

We'll see about the extension. He's 33 and his contract ends when he's 35. The contract relative to other QBs is a phenomenal deal, but I worry he'll be looking for a contract in the ~40M per year range once this one ends. The Broncos would be wise to steer clear of that for a QB that would be 36 once his new contract kicks in.

Rumours were he's looking at Mahones type of money. 50M range.
