Disappointment overload:

- Wasted HUGE wins against KC, BUF, CLE, and MIN
- One play away, if Russ could make a read, from winning a big game in HOU
- Comeback against NE, score two TDs with two 2-point conversions, get the ball back with a minute and change left only to piss it away and let them drive for a game winning FG.
- Didn't trade Jeudy, before the season OR at the trade deadline. So, now he's absolutely worthless.
- People somehow still believe that Surtain is a #1 corner despite the fact that he doesn't impact the game in a positive way at all. You would think that after watching some true big game corners like Chris Harris, Champ Bailey, and Talib that you could tell the difference.

Just a demoralizing season, once again. f*** George Paton too! Your picks suck, and that Russ deal, plus contract, is the biggest kick in the balls a fan could get.
I guess the only saving grace is I don't see a way George Paton is retained past this season.

I get the disappointment but what do you expect from a team that trusted the keys to the kingdom on a washed QB.

And has traded away basically every good draft pick for the last 5 years. And when they do draft, they draft poorly.

They have an incompetent GM and an incompetent QB and severely lack talent at most positions on the field. It's tough to win like that. Honestly I'm surprised they've even gotten to 8-8 I was expecting more of 4-5 win season at tops.

We are lucky Payton is a good enough coach that he realized our deficiencies and dumbed down the playbook to high school levels and was able to make something work so we weren't the laughing stock of the league.

If the NFLPA seriously sues Denver and the NFL for benching Russ this is gonna be downright hilarious given we won with Stidham
They have no case, he won 11 out of 30 starts. He can't make any argument that can change that fact. Most guys who have stats like that don't get 30 starts before they are benched.

Unless Wilson has some evidence, it's just his word against the Broncos. I can see it getting very ugly too. The Broncos will probably have to publicly call him a liar as well. He should have kept that shit quiet like a true pro, but the baby wanted sympathy from the media and the fans dumb enough to feel bad for a highly successful millionaire that's only played like dog shit here.

It kills me how he airs this stuff publicly then says he wants to be here long term.

Lol. "Yeah I have no issues dragging this org through the mud but I want this org to keep me."

I cannot wait for this guy to be gone. I hope some team like the Raiders signs him, too, so we can smash him twice a year.

Russ only cares about one thing, himself and his image.

So glad this experiment will be over after 2 seasons.

Also hope this means Paton is shown the door. It was his decision to not only trade for Russ but also give him the huge extension without playing a down. That's a fireable offense in my books. Gross negligence on his part.

This is really the main problem at hand. The lack of high end talent.

And the drafting problem is in the 1st round. If you look at their 1st round history over the past 6 years, this is the disaster we're dealing with:
- they didn't have a 1st rounder in two of the seasons (Wilson trade)
- traded away a third 1st round player in Noah Fant (Wilson trade)
- they essentially traded away another 1st round player in Bradley Chubb (new coach)
- Jerry Jeudy (an absolute bust)
- Pat Surtain (who is a good player)

So essentially, 6 first round picks in 6 years, for one good player. You simply cannot do that in today's NFL and succeed.

That said, I don't think the Broncos have drafted horribly in the 2nd/3rd/4th rounds over those same half dozen years. In fact, I think they've done pretty well, KJ Hamler notwithstanding.

Paton has made more than a couple of errors. The Wilson extension, the Fangio firing in favour of Nathaniel Hackett, the Gregory signing, not trading Jeudy when his value hadn't yet completely tanked, the McGlinchey signing.

It's time.

Collin Gillespie is absolutely shredding the G-League right now.

His last two games
22 points, 9 rebounds, 15 assists, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, 9/18 FG, 3/7 3PT, 1/2 FT, +9 in 45 minutes
and
32 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 6 turnovers, 2 fouls, 12/21 FG, 5/7 3PT, 2/2 FT, +8 in 42 minutes

He's been responsible (via scoring or assists) for 47% of the points scored with him on the floor. That's absolutely absurd; that's Jokic-tier domination.

Bama/Michigan might have been my favorite playoff game so far. It’s arguably the best… but the strategy, mistakes, and special teams made it so interesting to watch.

On one hand, Penix is good. On the other, he's 85 years old with bad knees and shoulders.

My favorite mid round QB is the QB from the other Washington team.

Those criteria apply to literally zero of the quarterbacks Parcells ever drafted:
  • Jeff Hostetler (2 year starter)
  • Dave Walter (Michigan Tech won 11 games while he was there)
  • Mike Perez (2 year starter)
  • Craig Kupp (2 year starter)
  • Drew Bledsoe (underclassman)
  • Jay Walker (2 year starter)
  • Chuck Clements (Houston won 11 games while he was there)

Does UDFA Tony Romo fit?

Was he in charge when Phill Simms got drafted in 1979? Edit: nope Simms was there before Tuna

Locally Parcells quit at Air Force after one season saying no one would be able to win there. :naughty:

To be fair, any CB looks good when you have Miller, Ware, and Wolfe rushing the quarterback.
