It blows my mind that almost 33k people go to every (terrible) Rockies game. We are the new Cubs. This team will never win a World Series. May never win a division title.

It was really nice to catch a game fairly cheap. I have no idea how much tickets actually go for, but we were on the third base dugout with three tickets (friend of ours happened to be in Denver for the weekend so we sprung) for under $100 total, considering hockey prices I was pretty happy. The local area was pretty cool with Union Station and my favorite, The Chop House.

The weather in Denver can be pretty spectacular too...I remember it being an incredible sunset that night at the park. If we lived in the state, I'm pretty sure the wife would want to go to more games as she loved the social aspect. *LOL* She still gets a bit intimidated trying to carry a conversation while watching hockey. She get's heavily invested in the play.

As I have pointed out many a time the Rockies problem is they can't win on the road. Even in a bad season like this one over .500 at home. To get to the playoffs and greater success they need to win on the road but at home they are a competitive team and have a great ballpark. To the average fan who sees a game as a singular event it's a good place to spend 3 hours in summer watching competitive baseball

Pretty disgusting (the Rockies numbers)

Where did you find this? Are the ranks for the whole league in each respective sport? Is the (2*) to say we are the 2nd most successful club in NHL history? What's the asterisk for?

The asterik is saying they won the cup but they were second overall in standings this year (behind Florida I think?).....And yes - the rankings are for the respective leagues.

Subject came up on DNVR, Colorado’s coaching Mount Rushmore?

Murray Armstrong? Mike Shanahan? Doug Moe? Then who?

Bednar? Bill McCartney? Fisher DeBerry? Sonny Lubick? Larry Brown?

I would think Kubiak gets a spot. Bednar, as much as I don't like him, is definitely carving his way onto that mountainside. One more cup with Bednar and I'd say he's a sure lock.

The knowledgeable ones understand this is a reset season. Finish bottom 5 and draft their next QB. Rather than finishing 8-12 last and having to use other assets to trade up.

Use the extra picks to fill out the roster.

They haven’t done much with Russ in recent years. One and done in their 3/4 trips to the PO along with 2 PO misses. Out in WC rounds vs Dallas (first PO start for Dak iirc), Atlanta, and Rams (started a backup and he got hurt and Goff with a busted finger led them with Russ throwing a pick 6) while only beating a Philly team that lost Wentz during the game.

Would have been more of the same if they kept Russ over the next 3/4 years. Not unless they fixed the OL and Defence. Have a double digit regular season and unlikely to reach a Super Bowl.

Honestly it’s a tough ask in my book. Because of altitude you have to play completely different games to win away from Coors than to win at Coors. You play half your games one way and half your games the other and you have to be good at both.

Of the two options, it only makes sense to tweak your team to play better at home because of the money it generates.

Also, other teams don’t give a shit whether they can win at Coors because they only play there a couple of times a year, so they don’t tweak their strategies much to try to win there.

I almost wonder if the Monforts have given up on trying to field a competitive team. It honestly must be tough given the altitude. I mean how hard is it to get a good pitcher to sign there?

Maybe they are just morons, too. I don’t know enough about it.

Totally agree with this. Man, I used to argue with people that it WAS possible to play MLB here, those were fighting words to me lol, but now I believe the total opposite.

Karl Dorrell f***ing sucks. His decisions are shit, his recruiting is shit, and the coaches he brought in are shit. I didn't think anyone could ever be lower than Dan Hawkins in CU history, but here we are.

No idea why CU thought he’d be a good hire… guy has always sucked at a coach.
