I created two free ESPN fantasy teams, I forgot I had the Steelers defense so they're on the bench earning all the points.

It was nice to see Notre Dame (can't stand them) and Texas A&M (who tried to buy their team, and easily the biggest abuser of the new money rules), lose to Marshall and App St. Great to see it.
Yeah, I’m ok anytime Notre Dame loses. They’re always over ranked anyway.

There are two types of College Football fans: Notre Dame fans and people who hate Notre Dame.

One of the few joys college football still offers me is watching Nebraska flounder.

I have no sympathy for Notre Dame, though I really wish it wasn't Marcus Freeman taking the brunt of it.

Nebraska made this mess, they can wallow in it. Sad thing is they will very likely interview the single most toxic man in college football out of desperation. I was done with Frost after he and a bunch of the players puffed out their chests during the pandemic and DEMANDED to go out there and earn the right to win three football games.

No idea how CU fixes their problems. It'll take a lot of money, and they simply don't have it.

The one program I truly bad about it CSU, as that's a school both my father and grandfather attended. I loved the Lubick Era, and I'm still steamed at them for forcing him out. Even the stench of Urban Decay managed to worm it's way into that program, and, no surprise, made it even worse. I have no idea what to make of the direction that program is going, but this definitely feels like the "no way but up" phase.

If you know, you know.

CU's problems are cultural. Until you break the culture, you won't be successful in football.

Yeah If the reports are true and he turned down than 6 yr offer with like 130+M guaranteed he's insane. That was more than Russ got guaranteed.

His play style, like you said, is highly risky. He's one bad injury from never seeing an offer like that again. Can't teach stupid. Could have been set for life with that one.
Insane, but on the flip side, if he stays healthy and hits the open market (more difficult in the NFL)... he could get Watson money.

CU's administration staff don't give a shit about athletics, there are some regents that always votes no for everything and for some f***ing reason, our admission standards for transfers are high. They shouldn't be this bad with fan support and the facilities we have but here we are. Hopefully they go 0-12 and clean house.

Fun fact we turned down a highly rated basketball recruit because of academics just for that same recruit to sign with ..... Wake Forest  Tad Boyle is a god for having some kind of success when the higher ups don't give him and resources to succeed.

They're lucky they got the Denver TV market, otherwise Big12 don't even consider taking them back

Sadly, when it comes to pro sports (and arguably college now too), if the player is good, the moral compass is fungible.
There are few more truths more universal than that.

The only place that apparently doesn't apply is when a punter is involved.

Now you know I WOULD wish him upon my worst enemy.
And your worst enemy is Nebraska? In any event, I think the Huskers learned their lesson from the last time they tried a former Raiders head coach. Maybe.

I think Nebraska will go heavily after Campbell from Iowa State first and foremost. After him, Doeren or Aranda. If they get past that spot on the list, I think you could see the desperation names of Meyer and Gruden.

The guy I really think they need to go after is Chris Petersen. They'd likely have a very hard time convincing him to come out of retirement and deal with boosters and press again... but he'd build that program properly and do it in a way that sets a foundation for success consistent with how Nebraska can recruit.

Yeah well he has to make it 2 more seasons, this one and next, to do so. Since they will franchise tag him next year.

And he has to stay healthy and produce to get another offer in that range.
