I can only hope that the Cubs spend big when they're ready to compete again, but at least this year I was very open on my expectation that the Cubs only wanted to give the illusion of being willing to spend now.

Orioles sign 2b Adam Frazier to a one year $8 million dollar deal. Lefty hitting second basemen guess it was to much for the thrifty Sox

White Sox sign of Andrew benintendi to a 5 year deal $75 million

I actually really like this move, despite the overall poor job the front office has done. Hope it works out. I liked the Pollock acquisition at the time too, but he just didn’t perform as expected.

So does this mean Eloy is DH going forward? Benintendi is LF and Eloy cant stay healthy so moving him out of field is best way to reduce risk. Or do you think Eloy is on trade block?

Still need RF solution

Fine with signing as I liked Benintendi thru years

How embarrassing is it that this is the largest free agent contract in white sox history lol

Kenny always gets his guy, no matter how many years later

This is actually Rick’s guy. He wanted him in the mlb draft but they overruled him to take Carson Fulmer.
As a Sox fan mostly everything about this franchise is embarrassing.

I think both the Cubs and Sox took steps forward since yesterday. But both moves probably leave you wanting a bit more, considering what other big market clubs have been doing.
