Outfielder Cody Bellinger, who has struggled for the Dodgers since his 2019 MVP season, has reached a $17.5 million deal with the Cubs, sources told ESPN.

Bellinger has batted just .203/.272/.376 over a stretch of 295 regular-season games. His .648 OPS from 2020 to 2022 ranked 299th out of the 338 qualified hitters during that stretch.

Worth while gamble.

And they deserve credit for building a lasting product. That’s something the Sox need to emulate when they eventually get new ownership.
