Vaughn ignores Pollock on shallow fly ball and near collision
Vaughn throws home late because of weaker arm and bad angle
Vaughn killing Sox tonight playing RF
Just have to separate real life from things like being a fan. You can control things is life (to a point) but you have zero control over how your team does.Must be nice to go through life not caring about anything.
Oh stop. Go look at his numbers last year and call him a waste. And they still can’t score/hit. Pathetic.
Grandal was such a waste of $$$
We spend $$ on the dumbest things I swear. And the important stuff we’re like naaaaah.
Again, he barely plays half a season and this year he's trash. Thats not a contract you'd want them to sign knowing what we know now.Oh stop. Go look at his numbers last year and call him a waste.
I still think he's playing hurt, it's clear from his running.
You guys think Hahn should have a crystal ball or something, lol.
He had played 140 and 153 the years before he arrived.

Im not complaining about them signing him when they did, my point is just that he's awful right now and been a dud overall for the sox. But yea, signing a poor defensive catcher whos 30 to the highest contract in team history is just kind of depressing to think about.SOX desperately needed a catcher
Signed the best available
3 years later "ugh, why did they sign him!?"
You guys wanted to go into the contention window with Zack Collins, FFS?

The point is that they’ll spend $$ on that(a catcher that can’t catch)….but not the things that really matter in terms of putting us over the top. Like a true star at the plate/in the field or an elite front line starter/Ace.Im not complaining about them signing him when they did, my point is just that he's awful right now and been a dud overall for the sox. I'm not sure you can put Moncada in that category. 2 seasons worth 4+ fWAR is actually not terrible. He was so good defensively in 2020 that even if his offense would have stayed the same he'd have been worth 3 fWAR over 162.Who's the most disappointing sox player of the past 20 years? Dunn, Moncada, or Beckham?
Moncada has that look to him where he looks like his effort is lacking. Even Steve Stone questioned his work ethic in a tweet previously. It might not even be fair, but that's how it appears, and then when you add in poor performance, it leaves people wanting more.I'm not sure you can put Moncada in that category. 2 seasons worth 4+ fWAR is actually not terrible. He was so good defensively in 2020 that even if his offense would have stayed the same he'd have been worth 3 fWAR over 162.
So over his last 3 seasons before this one, he averaged 4 fWAR so it remains to be seen if he's lost it or is a good player having a terrible season. 2023 will say a lot.
Everyone gets on Moncada's case because he's not Jose Ramirez. To each their own, but let's not pretend he was never good.
There's a lot of pretending that Giolito and Moncada were never good, and that's not right.
