Don't worry....be hapoy! Our manager may be asleep (but can you blame him with this futiile boring and BORING so-called White Sox offense)?).....BUT don't worry ..The Cubans will "wake up" from thei own slumber...you know...slug for a change ...RIGHT?

And the Twins now bolstered with 3 new pitchers will miraculously collapse anyway....RIGHT ?

Whoch means stand pat Cleveland will remain mo better than they are.....RIGHT?

So don't worry...Giolito and Lynn will somehow re-discover velocity on their fastballs again...so instead of creampuffs they are tossing out for several games bow, they will get back to form and shut the door again,RIGHT?

So despitecTLR dozing off ,we can be assured that Sox will "flip the switch"....Sure they will...ifvonly they can just find that switch to flip.

And Gio not even close to plate anymore

3rd walk of inning and bases loaded now for Royals

If Sox blow it up in offseason Gio and Anderson should be first out the door

Anderson is most overrated Chicago athlete in some time and Gio is not worth long-term investment

Cease is the only player who has come anywhere close to their ceiling with this group. The rest have woefully disappointed. That doesn't mean there still aren't solid players on this team.

Outside of Cease though, everyone is solid at best.

The Cease trade might have been worse than the Seth Jones trade. At least Jones is good. Quintana sucked for us.

Eloy just missed a grand slam ,, Boo but its 6-2 now

And WTH are you doing Anderson

Anderson absolutely f***ing pathetic tonight

Abreu with 2 run shot on next pitch to help offset Anderson mistake to an extent

8-2 White Sox

Gavin with blast to RF

9th of year

9-2 Sox

Gavin could very well be a 30-40 HR 1B/DH somewhere if given fulltime role
Iirc like 98% of his career hr are off righties. Theres no way hes a 30hr guy, much less 40. I dont even think he should be on the team past this season.

I dont want him on Sox after this year but I certainly think he could in right situation in which he is everyday 1B/DH he could hit that well for power

A left-handed Mark Reynolds potentially without the 200+ strikeouts

Guardians and Twins lose

Sox could pull back to 2 GB if they hold on

Honestly, I'm relieved that Hahn didn't chase his mistakes with dumb trades today. It is what it is. See where they can go with this season, and then there's a lot of crap to fix this coming winter.

Oh it's really nice to see a hot Eloy. It's been a long time coming. I hope he can keep it up.

Don't forget that Quintana saved your asses in 2017. I don't think you guys make the playoffs that year without him. It sucked for you guys that he wasn't the same after that season.

Not a lot of people saw Quintana's decline coming, especially since his K rate was climbing from 2015-17 each season.

They won the division by six games, he made no difference. And in his two NLCS starts that year, his era was over 10. He sucked.

It's really interesting to hear Sox fans and Cub fans talk about Quintana. Polar opposite opinions.

I really don't think Cease and Eloy would have helped the Cubs much though. Cease wasn't even a good pitcher until 2021. Eloy can't stay on the field.

Dating myself a bit here. But man, going to back to being a little kid, and watching Vin Scully with Joe Gariagiola doing the Saturday game of the week on channel 5. That's where I grew to love the game of baseball. To me Vin Scully is the best ever, and it's not even close. Rest in Peace.

Well yea. Q was awesome for the Sox. The Cubs not so much. And the Cubs gave up a lot to get him.

"The Cubs … did not have a fruitful trade deadline. In a similar mid-rebuild stance, the Cubs somehow failed to find a package they liked for Contreras, their longtime catcher who will reach free agency at season’s end. The trade speculation was so fervent around him that Wrigley Field essentially bid him farewell last week. Turns out, he’ll be back! At least for a couple months. After that, they may make him an offer to stay, but the intent of trading him was clearly there. It raises questions about how other teams view his defense, and about whether the Cubs missed an opportunity somewhere along the line. At the bare minimum, they could still make him a qualifying offer and recoup a draft pick if he leaves, but even that may not be an appealing prospect if other teams don’t view him as a star catcher". MLB trade deadline winners and losers: Juan Soto, the Astros, and the playoff race that just got more fun

Saw they’ll get a pick for Contreras so not a huge loss in not trading him if the value wasn’t there.

But what about Happ?
