I’m not saying he’s still a prize catch, but it’s not like anyone could’ve turned that dump around. They have two damn good players and then a bunch of nobodies.

Angels should axe their upper management, too.

And trouts about to waste his career there. What a waste of the best player of the generation.

Considering the opponent, thats got to be one of the more dominant pitching performances of the season. 8ks in 6 innings and just 2 baserunners.
His command yesterday was really good. That was really nice to see.

Now let's see if they can win today and get back to .500!

The lineup is something else too.
This what was tweeted an hour ago by grand slam picks.

1 SS Danny Mendick
2 LF Andrew Vaughn
3 CF Luis Robert
4 1B Jose Abreu
5 3B Yoan Moncada
6 C Yasmani Grandal
7 DH AJ Pollock
8 RF Gavin Sheets
9 2B Josh Harrison

If that's the lineup, then it's probably the best one they can put out right now.

If it's the one listed on whitesox.com gameday, then it's pretty f***ing bad. I really wish for nothing more as a Sox fan than for TLR to be fired yesterday.

1 2B Garcia
2 CF Robert
3 3B Moncada
4 1B Abreu
5 C Grandal
6 DH Burger
7 RF Sheets
8 LF Pollock
9 SS Mendick

I have no idea how anyone thought that the Sox ever had any chance whatsoever at winning a championship. They were and are clearly lacking in the talent department. At their best, they were good, but not good enough.

You really are the worst. Although it's pretty damn close between you and Jack.

You do realize the Sox are literally one of the youngest teams in baseball, right? They are the 6th or 7th youngest team in MLB based upon batter's age, weighted by games played. (And being coached by an outdated, drunken dinosaur no less).

I have no idea how anyone with half a brain can think the Sox window is closed for a championship with one of the youngest rosters in baseball. A roster that has a lot of talent, but needs better coaching, better physical training, and some more time to develop. Plus a piece or two here and there to finish it off.

There was never a window to begin with. They're a top player or two short.
Had they signed Bryce Harper and Zack Wheeler they'd be able to compete.

I don't doubt that these guys have talent, but they lack the ability to maximize it and even so, they're still a couple pieces of that level short.

Even then, they need Moncada and Jimenez to be their 2019/2020 selves respectively.

What players have the Sox brought up that has reached anywhere close to their potential?
The only guys I can think of are Anderson and Giolito. Abreu was a finished product when he got here.

Moncada? Good, but disappointing.
Robert? Good, but disappointing.
Jimenez? Injured, and disappointing.
Cease? Good, but disappointing.

None of these guys have developed into stars. At best, they have solid seasons.

Lol.

You obviously don't get it. Not even going to get into a conversation with you about this. You're incapable of doing anything but jumping off cliffs. You're literally throwing the towel in on one of the youngest teams in baseball, like a season after a rebuild.

And no, you DO doubt they have talent. I keep thinking it's tough for you to come up with worse statements about Chicago sports than others you've made in the past, and you keep outdoing yourself.

How does someone contradict their own statement so hard like an hour after making it?

Do you understand what good, but not good enough is? They're clearly one tier below championship quality at their best.

Do they have talent? Yes. They clearly do. Do they have enough talent to be considered championship contenders? No, they clearly don't. I don't know what's so hard to understand.

I'm not saying that they suck, I'm saying they're not quite good enough to be a serious threat for a World Series.

They're missing a bonafide star or two.

Do you understand that one of the youngest teams in baseball has time for players to develop into stars? Do you understand that many baseball players take more than a season or two to develop into "bonafide stars"? You do understand that all these "good, but disappointing" players you listed have had significant time with injuries?

You CLEARLY said this team was, and isn't talented enough. Then in your next post stated "I don't doubt they have talent."

You don't win 93 games without having some sort of talent. You can win 93 games while not being a serious threat for a WS.

I do doubt they have the talent in the organization right now to rise to the level of championship contention. They have to be willing to sign one top hitter and one top pitcher in addition to the group they have right now.

They won't win a WS without signing two top players AND guys like Moncada and Jimenez getting their shit together.

Moncada is 27 and having the worst season of his career. He was good, but fell off of a cliff this year. Jimenez will be 26 later this summer, and hasn't proven shit yet.

Vaughn and Robert are 24 and still developing.

Kopech is a budding ace. Cease has that ability, but hasn't taken that next step yet.

The big issue the Sox have is timing. They need all of these guys to be good at the same time, and that hasn't happened yet.

Realistically, they're about to end up in the same situation they were in during 2016 where they have Kopech, Cease, Vaughn and Robert as stars and nothing around them.

Moncada? Good, but disappointing. -
Robert? Good, but disappointing. - 163 GP - Barely a full season
Jimenez? Injured, and disappointing. - 243 GP - Only 1.5 seasons played
Cease? Good, but disappointing. 69 GP - 2 seasons worth of starts.

None of these guys have developed into stars. At best, they have solid seasons.

Moncada - 559 GP - Short of 3.5 seasons with maybe one of them being relatively injury free?
Robert - 163 GP - Barely a full season of starts.
Jimenez - 243 GP - only 1.5 seasons played.
Cease - 69GP - Only 2 seasons worth of starts.

And Moncada is the oldest at 27 years old...

You're writing off players with like a season or two in the bigs who are like all under 25 years old.

Your posts are a joke. Which is why you get ripped so hard for the terribleness of them all the time.

So contradict yourself, then argue something that you weren't arguing in the first place.

AGAIN. You literally stated, and I quote, "They were and are clearly lacking in the talent department."

Then followed it up with "I don't doubt they have talent."

It's amazing how you keep repeating "I don't know why it's so hard to understand."

Maybe because your views change every time someone rips you for one. You got called out on a stupid post, so you started arguing about other shit, moving the goalposts, and trying to maneuver out of the stupidity of that post.

No one understands wtf you're saying ever, because you say one thing, then in the next post say that's not what you mean, and argue something else. You make statements, then walk them back minutes later when someone calls you on them. It's f***ing old and tired at this point.

And on that note, I'm done arguing about it.

One tier below championship level at their best. They need outside help to put them over the top.
