The manager

The defense

The pitching no longer being outstanding like it was in 2021. Now it’s just average.

The offense

…it ain’t the one thing. It’s everything. All working against us. Even the ownership as everyone knows is awful.

Yeah LaRussa's getting ripped to shreds pretty much everywhere with this. As expected, in their 9-game stretch vs. contenders they did poorly, going 3-6.

It's about time to start giving LaRussa breathalyzers in the clubhouse before the games. The man is a disaster.

I'd argue the manager has more to do with all of those things than you seem to think.

Well sure cuz that’s the easiest way to explain it all. Why not just blame Tony for everything? But I’m afraid it’s not that simple. He’s not the one that assembled the roster. He’s not out there unable to field simple ground balls and turn routine double plays. That’s on the roster and it’s lack of fielding ability. He’s also not the only reason why players like Moncada and Grandal(just to name a few) have an OPS that’s around .500.

He’s definitely been abysmal as a manager, there’s no denying. He’s the one responsible for these stupid lineups and these ridiculous decisions with the bullpen and when/when not to pull certain pitchers.

But let’s not act like you can just lump all those other factors into one giant category of “TLR is the cause of it all”. Because that’s just not true. He’s only one part of the problem.

He 100% needs to go but everyone knows he’s got Reinsdorf there to save his job. So unfortunately we’re stuck.

The Phillies are 7-0 since firing Girardi. I'm not sure you realize how much the wrong manager can cause dysfunction all throughout the lineup. The same with a lack of consistency. Terrible lineup orders. Inexplicable sitting of players. TLR is so obsessed with righty/lefty matchups, that he benches guys with hot bats, constantly...

He's killing this team. But of course I'm sure it's all a coincidence that so many players have regressed under his management.

I dont know what happened because I turned the game off, but it looks like Yoan, the guy with like a 15 wrc+ this year, pinch hit for Burger, the hottest hitter on the team, late in the game? Is that right?

Nvm, looks like burger hurt his leg?

Leg cramps, according to the demented dinosaur.

So, have TLR fanboys accepted this is what he is?

A purely disappointing, overhyped, mediocre manager, who brings little to nothing to the team at this point?

So you, the TLR fanboy... have you accepted the fact that TLR is an over the hill, drunken, racist, shitstain of a manager, who the game passed by, and he has no business coaching one of the youngest teams in baseball? Hall of Fame coach intentionally walks guy on 1-2 count. You can't make this shit up with this f***ing clown of a manager. It was the worst possible mistake ever the second they hired a guy who hadn't coached in over a decade to manage a young, up-and-coming team. Get the f*** over this loser. Someone needs to take him out behind the barn and put him out of his misery. Because he's either mentally f***ed, or he's hammered in the dugout every game. What a f***ing disaster of a hire. Worst hiring decision in MLB history.

Clearly playing hurt, as is Grandal.

I'm not making excuses for either, they should both go on the shelf for awhile but this front office is clueless.

Moncada had an entire offseason and then got hurt right before this season began and needed more time off/another IL stint to recover….and now he’s already hurt again? Are we bringing these players back too soon or are they just too fragile or is it both?

What about thecalkegedcsuperstar Luis Robert...highly disappointing..What happened to his power?

Last 123 AB (May and June to date) only 3 doubles...no triples...only 3 HR ...only 14 RBI..

In last 38 AB only 3 RBI 2 doubles no triples no HR..only .316 slugging%..

He us flailing away at bad pitches.. not making goid contact and huge piwrr shortage..

What hapoebedctpbthevhyoed superstar ?

Same manager who had Mark McGwire sacrifice bunt in a playoff game. LaRussa was always the most overrated manager ever.
And was the architect of the super-steroid Oakland teams of the late 80s/early 90s. Looked the other way and covered up the rampant cheating.

Now he's not only a feeble mess, but a drunk and an embarrassment and a big reason the Sox have underachieved.

Giolito can’t just comfortably pitch his way to an easy win with a 5-0 lead at home vs the Rangers…instead he instantly gives up a 4 spot and allows them right back in the game.

The Sox REALLY need Giolito to get back to being where he was a few years ago. He gives up WAY too many base runners and runs in general these days.

He's just not that pitcher anymore. Sucks, but it is what it is.
