Antonio Brown is a real dumbass.

The sideline reporter will let us know when she knows something officially on his status.

Perhaps they took him to Bellview.

That guy's got problems. He certainly doesn't have an NFL team. Since Bruce Arians said he is no longer a part of the team during the postgame.

Antonio Brown needed:

8 more catches to unlock a $333,333 bonus.

He also needed 55 receiving yards to unlock another $333,333 bonus.

He also needed just 1 receiving TD to unlock another $333,333 bonus.

Uh, Tom Brady was his QB. I am pretty sure @LT Dan, or I could do that playing with Tom Brady.

Antonio Brown's status has been upgraded from dumbass to dumb f***.

Let’s be honest, these issues likely have very little to do with intelligence or attitude. But a much more serious issue the NFL would rather not have to talk about in public.

Maybe Brown's agent should get him evaluated by a doctor.

I guess he didn't like being the 3rd option on the previous drive so he said,
"How can I get my bonuses like this... f-it, I'm out" [probably true]

It's possible Brown does have CTE. Brown is aware that he has had at least one severe concussion from the Burfict hit.

Maybe the answer is to outlaw football, hockey, boxing, MMA, etc., essentially all contact sports.

Difficulty with speech, memory and behavior may be signs of CTE

I think it’s more than possible. But Browns stuff has been less severe so we mock (myself included). But if you compare to something like Griffin’s issues In Minnesota which are likely both symptoms of the same issue. The mocking stops, because that is very scary stuff he is dealing with.

I honestly don’t know the answer. As these are adults making their own choices. Does the NFL/Pa need to set up funds to monitor and track these issues? Provide support pre/post playing career? Is it even in their best interest to study this stuff? I mean look at big tobacco and how much trouble they got in cause they “knew”. Is ignorance the best defense?

I think it may be wise for the NFLPA to set up some type of guidance or referral program for players who have been concussed, or once their career reaches a certain point in time to discuss risk involved with continuing to play.

I have never seen studies on players in rugby, or Australian rules football on this subject. It would be interesting since they don't wear hard helmets when they play.

There’s a strong argument that helmets in football lead to more concussions. Worth a read:

Helmets don't eliminate concussions. It's time for the NFL to ditch them

“Modern plastic, shelled helmets were not introduced to football until the end of the 1940s. Facemasks did not become commonplace until the 1960s. Prior to that, players tackled in a “rugby style”: with the initial point of contact being the shoulder (in the very early days of football, spear tackles were allowed but Fatalities spiked.”

So you get a high impact hit in coverage without helmets and now you got fractured skulls and brain trauma anyway. Or is the assumption that the players would avoid such contact?
The assumption is players would definitely avoid such contact. You're not going to lead with your head on a tackle, if you don't have a helmet.

You'll lead with your shoulder and hit your head sometimes. The driving your helmet against the ball thing was definitely a problem, but that's just one instance of concussions happening in the game. You see plenty more happen when someone gets kneed in the pile and the pile doesn't go away without helmets.

It's sort of the helmets/cages lead to an increase in high sticks argument.

Our first few years of college roller hockey, no one even required visors, and damn near no one got hit in the face--everyone was super respectful, checking wasn't crazy, etc.

Fast forward a few years and you have guys getting suspended for crosschecks to the neck and head and headbutting

I can understand the invincibility argument but I'm not as sure you can put pandora back in the box

Oh, and yeah, I checked out of college football for the most part after USC's sanctions and subsequent fall, the Pac-10/12 was never the same really and it seems like the SEC has almost completely centralized all the talent with a few notable exceptions (for the present company haha).

And the SEC keeps expanding too, which is pretty funny itself.

The ground won't change the way it hits just because the players aren't wearing helmets.
Almost all head contacts with the ground which cause concussions are to the back of the head. You can design equipment to lessen the impact of those blows from the ground to the back of the head.

As I said, I would like to see the CTE numbers from rugby and Australian rules football.
