Almost all head contacts with the ground which cause concussions are to the back of the head. You can design equipment to lessen the impact of those blows from the ground to the back of the head.

As I said, I would like to see the CTE numbers from rugby and Australian rules football.

I'll take your word for it, but almost all still isn't all. You're also going to get guys inadvertently catching knees or other body parts to the head as they go to ground when multiple players come together.

I don't know where you would get the numbers, but rugby and Aussie rules certainly have concussion discussions as well. Though in these sports, the play isn't dead when the ball carrier goes down, so there is less incentive to "hit" a guy vs "tackle" him in an effort to control the ball. There's no blocking and the ball rapidly changes hands compared to how rare a lateral or a 2nd pass on the same play is in the NFL, meaning NFL players can focus on lighting a guy up and not worry about him tossing it to a teammate and being out of position.

Hell Soccer is having CTE issues because of heading the ball.

I don't really buy that heading the ball is truly the issue. I understand that it has an effect, but every soccer player has hit their head on the ground or had a clash of heads with another player enough times that I don't see how you can distinguish what's really doing the damage. That said, every time I can recall hitting my head on the ground or on another player's head it was while we were both trying to head a ball, so the root issue is still the same.

As a kid, I remember getting a headache from heading drills in a soccer camp - in AYSO league play coaches never emphasized heading so it had never been an issue before. But I had already had a concussion at that point in my life from a bike crash so maybe I was more susceptible to the negative effects.

Yeah, that would be interesting. You really don't see a lot of spearing or guys using there heads to make plays. Its almost like they have enough respect for the other players not to do it.

LeBron James 28.7, 7.4, 6.6
Brandon Ingram 22.6, 6.5, 5
Kyle Kuzma 14.9, 8.4, 2.9
Lonzo Ball 13, 5.5, 5.1
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 11.4, 3.6
Alex Caruso 8.4, 3.7, 4

I think if the LAL had kept those players from the 2018-19 roster, they would have had a better chance of winning 2 rings than the current AD/Russ 2k team. The stats are from this season.

These numbers look like what the Kings did to Detroit in the first. The Niners lost another 4 on that play as well.

The Rams can't stop the run at all this half. They will blow the 17 point lead and lose once again to the niners.

Turned it off. First time watching a game in 3 years and they can't do sh** about the run. Brutal. Niners making the Rams their B****. Haven't beatin the Niners in 3 years. Brutal.

I don't see anyone in the NFC who is going to go into Lambeau and beat the Packers in what is likely to be temps anywhere from 0-20 degrees (with snow and wind possible). Rodgers excels in these conditions and all the other NFC QB's other than Brady don't. Tough to bet against Brady but the Bucs offense is really beat up.

AFC is way more wide open, IMO.

Can anyone think of a worse in-game screw-up in any sport than Branden Staley's timeout there? The Raiders were going to sit on it. I think the guy legit cost his team a trip to the playoffs with his stupidity. It was also ridiculous to go for 2 when they got it to 9 with 4 minutes left, if you miss the game is basically over and even if you get it you still need a TD and an XP.

And they were only in this spot because of his ridiculous 4th down adventures 3 weeks ago vs. KC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Remember the 3 points at the end of the 1st half?

The Rams will somehow end up playing the Niners in the playoffs, bank on it!

Nah, Ingram and Kuz are just stat accumulating on bad teams. Any legit team they are 3rd or 4th options.
