I agree with you there. I'd love to see five-year contracts for re-signing, four-year contracts for UFAs. But the NHLPA would never go for it.

I don’t think they’ll have much of a leg to stand on if the owners demand it (which they should, and likely will).
Owners don’t care. They’ll lock out again and lose entire seasons. There are so many players being bought out/going on LTIR after signing these deals. Sooner or later the owners will get sick of paying players to do nothing.
I see the BOG coming to the table demanding non-guaranteed contracts. The PA will refuse, and inevitably both will agree on 5/4 or maybe 6/5 max year contracts.
Signing any player to an 8 year deal is just cap suicide in the current era unless that player is HOF bound like Crosby/Malkin/Ovechkin.

Tons of crazy UFA movement. KD and Kyrie both signing with the f***ing Nets. Kawhi likely going to the Lakers to form another super team dynasty with Lebron and AD. Just a lot of movement with some supreme talent.

Sheesh it's bad enough my Angels are a bad team and now it just gets worst. Thoughts go out to Tyler and his family. Sad day for the Angels.

Figured it might have been Kawhi Leonard landing back in LA.
I would suspect it is something you all get accustomed to but, hope your all ok down there.
Mostly yeah. That one was long. Thankful nothing terribad happened. Theater people were pretty calm. Most wanted to finish the film before being evacuated.
Thankful not to be at the epicenter. Hope those folks are ok all things considered.

In my room 3 stories up, first earthquake living alone, rethinking my glass desk.
A little concerned there was another 5.0 this early morning, but if i remember there were generous aftershocks after Northridge.

For what it’s worth, there’s a 5% chance we have a larger earthquake in the next 24 hours or so.
I’m just north of Los Angeles and felt a pretty long shake. Neither have been especially violent, but long and rolling and almost nauseating.

The NBA summer league game in Vegas stopped and they ended up calling it off.
I think it was mentioned that the epicentre was closer to Vegas than LA.
I guess if there is good news, this quake happened in an area that is not heavily populated.

Yeah these quakes were a little over 100 miles away from LA, but it seems like a good majority in and around the area felt that. I've been in California for almost 20 years and never felt earthquakes like that before.

I'm in the South Bay and that was a long side to side earthquake. Made me feel like I was on a boat.
