OT Thread Part IIX: The How Do Roman Numerals Work? Edition

While that's a good idea and all, I'm one of those fools who can't do **** on his own. Cardio, sure, I can run on the treadmill at my house. But weights and all the workouts, I need to do at a gym with my friends there to help and to motivate.

Basically, I need a trainer, but **** that, too expensive, I'll be going to the gym with my friend who's on the football team, he knows all about lifting.

It's also a very doable option because the NYSC in my town does a student special of $20 a month. #cheap

Damn, CCP, you're making me feel bad. Haven't worked out at all this week. Most of my friends are in the area (well, those who are still in school and came home for their break) so we played football on Wednesday, then basketball yesterday. I haven't run that hard in anything in a long time so I've been sore since Thursday morning :(

Will get back into the groove after New Years... Even though we're slated for another bball game on the 2nd.

At least I got some good burn in my legs going though.

Absolutely loved Django: Unchained. Had all the components of my favorite movies. Funny dialog, great characters, gratuitous violence, and some good music. I also love the Western genre so that's icing on the cake.

I know you detailed a workout for me the other day, but is this a good one too?

Especially if I integrate some of your workouts, such as the leg workouts and the declines, etc...

Yea. Any workout is good for you; you're not an experienced lifter trying to bulk up seriously, you're just trying to get in shape so just pick any routine and stick to it. That's the most important thing, just keeping a routine. What it's comprised of is less important, just don't leave any areas out and make sure to do legs.

One of the greatest movies I've ever watched. The KKK scene with Jonah Hill was absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, me too, but I keep getting in these stupid arguments where apparently Subban is better than McDonagh and Quick is better than Lundqvist, and I keep getting infractions.

Forget those, I'm looking back at the people telling me Fowler is better than MDZ

Apparently Erik Johnson is better than Dan Girardi, Michael Del Zotto, Marc Staal and Ryan McDonagh. This despite averaging only 20 minutes a game.

Draft status, bro.

Plus, since playing in the Western Conference automatically makes you underrated, the players there are actually gods. We just don't know it 'cause we go to bed earlier.

Haha, this stuff. Ya. This stuff. I was complaining about it a week ago. The hate is obvious. I don't even bother with the mainboard's collective opinion or otherwise.

Argument: Our individual defensemen are all worse than player x
Reality: Best or second best defense in the league.

Argument: Decent defensemen but peaked/no potential/one good season
Reality: Youngest elite core of defensemen with solid seasons and massive potentials

Argument: Lundqvist is only good because of the defense
Contradiction: The defense is above average at best
Reality: World's best goaltender + elite defense = best and most consistent defensive game (includes goaltending) in the league this past year in the past few years in the NHL.

Argument: McDonagh is not as good of a D man as player x because he doesn't have an offensive upside
Reality: McDonagh will undoubtedly be picked by any GM over player x and has been a far better player in the NHL compared to player x and is almost certainly a top-two defensemen on any team that has a defensive defensemen top two pairing.

Argument: Callahan is not nearly as good as player X
Support: bad hands, average at best, slow, no flash.
Reality: Had better seasons, numbers, impact than player x

Argument: Luongo is better than Henrik
Support: Most consistent (False), more playoff appearances/led team to cup final (flopped), nominated for Vezina, Gold for team Canada at Olympics, more wins, shutouts.
Reality: Y'all are delusional.

Argument: Kreider is a flop
Support: Bad AHL showing
Reality: the precise combination of talent and potential to become top-6 on any team's roster.

Some good stuff.

To finish, HFNYR are all madmen for thinking their Stanley cup contending team is any good.

Let's get a season first.

Without NHL 13, I'd forget we even have Rick Nash.

If we keep with the thinking of "let's get a season first", everything we do and say on here is meaningless

I have no idea what I meant by "next season" and I don't even care to think about it anymore

By living and trade, I'm a Rangers fan.

When I run out of Rangers hockey to attend to, I follow the Avs mostly for Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene. Having that said, EJ is not better than Mcdonagh

I think people are still stuck on him being a former 1st OVR pick. He's good, but nothing special. Apparently he has "potential." McD has potential too, and has already shown he can do something with it. Staal is better than him too. Girardi makes a very solid argument.

I swear, players on this site are weighted in their potential as if it's made of gold or something.

It's all pedigree. The pedigree test goes as following:

If you can insert the word "F***ing" between a player's first name and last name (e.g. Erik ******* Johnson or Sidney ******* Crosby or Ryan ******* Nugent-Hopkins), the player mostly has an excellent pedigree.

To test the opposite, let's see how the following sounds: Ryan ******* McDonagh, Dan ******* Girardi, Derek ******* Stepan just doesn't have as much ring to it.

I kid but it's also somewhat true

we should just organize a day when we all go to the main board and raise our swords and go to battle. We'll change our avatar to various LOTR characters and change our signature to aragorn's speech at the black gates.
