I was on the fence about Starfield. Might have to buy it just because of this:

How stupid could these officers actually be? Park a squad car right on the traintracks and handcuff somebody inside it while carrying out their investigation.

The officer in court quoted "I never in a million years expected a train to be plowing through my scene" (while the squad car had been parked right on top of train tracks)

If this wasn't tragic it could be a screencut from Superbad.

She also cited limited visibility and she'd never been in that area before and its so completely dark. lol you can see the train crossing warning signs all around and which are white and tend to glow in the dark with any headlights at all on..Train crossing signs look the same wherever you go. How is location even relevant?

Jurisdictions tell people to practice train safety and this is what their constables are doing..

Somehow the woman survived but with terrible injuries and likely never be healthy again.

I am more than a bit rankled at something, but I should just file it away under things I have no control over and forget about it.

For about the 4th or 5th time over the last few weeks we have a news story of two different opposing Eritrean groups having violent confrontations in a Canadian city.

I won't say what I would like to say because it is probably against forum rules .

I'll say it. This is Canada, where we're all supposed to get along and if there are arguments, keep them civil. Leave that other shit in your old country.

Huge win for the Canadian basketball team, they went to sleep vs Brazil and lost, so had to beat Spain and did so in a comeback so we are in the next Olympics.

The Americans lost to Lithuania.

Good article on the beloved Jimmy Buffet. So many people with condolences and memories, from Sir Paul to Sir Elton to Blake Shleton to Bob Dylan to Warrent Buffet to Bill Clinton.

Jimmy Buffett remembered by Elton John, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson: 'A lovely man gone way too soon'

Burning man continues to be a tragedy. Gee what possible bad could happen setting up a festival for 73K in the most remote area of the continent, in a lake bed, in the desert, with one road leading out. Even in best circumstances it takes 8hrs to get out of there.

Further the lake bed is primarily silica, with some gypsum. Its bad for you. Even in best possible Burning man years windstorms are commonplace and they were the last 2 yrs. Breathing this shit in isn't something I'd be inclined to do voluntarily.

Funny how you always hear this fest is a demonstration of people living communally for a week helping others and being altruistic and there are less winches than you would find anywhere. Thousands of vehicles getting stuck and I've seen one instance of somebody stopping to try to winch somebody out of the mud.

Meanwhile people shitting and pissing wherever they can as all the portapotties are full up. Seems like the type of person that goes to something like this is the nothing bad can ever happen mindset.

One of the most surreal things in this disaster is one of the first initiatives were setting up towers and wifi so that people could be connected. One would think food, water, blankets, supplies, medicine, might be a first priority but these are the times we live in. "no internet" = Existential crisis.

This is the altruistic scene right now. People getting out of dodge however they can before the fest truly turns into shit. All these people leaving with stay orders in place and making sure to block basically most paths out with their stuck RV's and vans.

With the flooding and ancient bugs coming out of the acid mud by the millions, it's hard to not think about some old parables. Perhaps more competent to deal with it nowadays with technology, but you can imagine how something similar happening thousands of years ago could be seen as an omen.

Best tomato growing place on Earth? All things made out of tomatoes start with the quality and type of those tomatoes.

Costco had the worst Bruschetta on earth. Thats for sure. I see their home kirkland brand has been discontinued. That stuff was vile.

I should have put the joking emoji guy in. That said the Algarve region in Portugal has the best tomatoes we’ve ever had.

Why is this a tragedy? (unless you're tongue in cheek of course). The tragedy is that there are some many stupid people in the world. A bunch of campers out to some remote place in the desert, where the highlight of the event is to see a giant bonfire. Sure it's muddy, but I think it's been just as bad at Big Valley some years. A whole bunch of people have already said, "f*** it", and just drove out. The rest should do the same. I am getting sick and tired this appearing on the national news every night, like it's some vessel that capsized in the sea with thousands of hearty souls lost in icy waters.

Unless you're a complete screwup, you'll have a job the minute you cross the border. Maybe earlier if you throw some resumes out there.

Well we keep hearing about how skilled trades are badly needed all the time here but it is a bit cyclical. I'm sure some of our fellow board members will have a better handle on things than me.

Do you specialize in any particular type of electrical work?
