Granlund is having a great year, but he’s not a longterm solution for the Habs at 2c, so I don’t see them given up assets to try for the playoffs this year.

They want longterm pieces that will be a part of the core, Granlund is not that. Their goal is to compete for the cup in the years to come, not make the playoffs this year.

Don't want to trade him anyways unless a team is silly enough to offer a 1st. I think he re-signs in San Jose.

But at the end of the day, if Grier can't get a 1st, he'll take the best offer instead of risking loosing him for nothing.
