So, at a Burger King in Thailand they now have the 'real cheeseburger' 20 slices of cheese, no burger, no sauces no pickles, just cheese and bun.

Work of genius or disgusting pile of crap?

Philip Rivers (former NFL QB) is 41 and his wife is knocked up for the 10th time. Literally.

He's 41, that's an average of a kid bring born every two years. Vaginas are not supposed to be a clown car.
Just finished another book by Herman Koch, a Dutch Writer. This book is the Summer house.

I just mention it because Koch writes so much of these kinds of out loud thoughts that are jaded and hilarious. The guy is cynical in writing story and no surprise he really connects with me. I lol every few pages of what he writes. you might like it as theres some of this kind of stuff in there, or a lot of it. The protagonist is a Doctor who is disgusted with his patients. Good summer read.

I think Rivers is from a religion that encourages the large families. Kind of like those nuts on TV with 19 kids.

As we sit here wallowing in smoke filled air yet another weekend (and the smoke particulate in such quantities and durations can be carcinogenic this article is interesting.

it mentions specifically that there have been less prescribed burns and particularly in the Province of BC. But lets cut to the chase here. Its increasingly unlikely that they can use prescribed burns or allow fires to just burn because increasingly formerly remote areas of BC are now populated with small towns or cottages or such because the real estate value in BC is immense driving settlement and new housing almost anywhere. In places they shouldn't be. So that when theres any fire risk the first thought is putting it out and with a degree of resources never seen or deployed anywhere before.

Presently the article mentions there are at least 10 countries helping Canada with the effort.

Where I disagree with the article is that all this smoke and wildfire is just due to climate change. its due to up to a Century of putting out fires and not just letting them burn out as even the article mentions that boreal forest is supposed to do, as renewal, so that Nature has a way of pushing back at mans "best efforts" and becoming bigger fires because of all that stock of bone dry tinder thats been hanging around in large swaths for a century in areas that NEED to burn.

The whole thing also makes a complete mockery of efforts to control the burning of fossil fuels and any resultant. if man isn't burning what is meant to burn then nature will.

I'll also remind that fire that is left to burn does so efficiently and with very little smoke. The burning of the hydrocarbons is more complete left to burn well. The efforts to put out the fires, that is unprecedented in number of fire fights, use of water bombers, international efforts etc...thats what causes a large degree of the smoke we are experiencing.

But watch there be more inhabited encroachment on boreal forest that is not meant to be inhabited as residence. Indigenous peoples realized that living in boreal forest can only be nomadic. Building major structures within it is essentially pointless. Massive fires encroaching on Lytton, Nelson, Tumbler Ridge, Edson, Fort Mc, etc etc attempt to teach us that. But man continues to believe in the domain over nature everywhere on the planet. Which could be seen as an unmentioned greater problem. Nature is even pushng back at that sprawl encroachment and we can't seem to spot it. Maybe covered by all the smoke..

Why am I posting this the above? Edmonton, and Alberta have so often been the population that in later years or retirement stokes resettling in BC Indeed we're often the ones settling into areas of BC that in a lot of cases we no little about beyond say vacationing there or going on houseboats etc. I've had the dream to, so many times. But a real estate agent will never inform you of the risks. They'll never tell you the alternate looks of "paradise" in the forest. In laked, wooded, mountainous regions.

This article is interesting too and it just covers the Kootenay region, just one of really all regions of BC where fire risk is considerable.

This fire risk map is shocking. Good for the Nelson news to be so detailed and honest. Theres not much of that around where money is involved.

If I can add that these are all beautiful resplendent areas that you fall in love with as I have, but from a distance. Only to visit.

As in everything buyer beware. BC has less and less resources to even try to protect communities and homes from fire. That idyllic palatial log cabin featured on whatever home construction show is the worst thing you could buy. The fire will like licking it though. Trappers used to build very modest cabins. Designed to be essentially disposable. Fire burns it down, just build another one somewhere. Its nuts to build mansions out of huge timber and just smack it down in middle of forest but its what people want to do now. With whole TV programs glorifying the mode.

Anyone here watch much Olympics? It seems that the IOC has determined, from what I can gather, that Russians will be allowed to compete going forward under the refugee/stateless style group.

Don't get me started on the politics of it all, what I am mostly interested in is 2026 figure skating. Anyone here watch much of it or follow?

Honestly I thought he was at 11 when he still played lol.

Still a lot of work to finish of the making of a football team though.

Man I googled Summer House. Lots of books named Summer House lol

Thanks for the book recommendation. I just downloaded it to my Kindle from the library. Needed a new book after finishing up the last one on Thursday. I saw that The Dinner is in my library’s collection also.

Baker’s Bay

The Sphere is gonna be a fun place when it opens.

I’ve played Wynn several times, it’s an incredible track and part of the fun is the strip vibes. The eye is pretty creepy but they’ve got all kinds of different graphics being displayed and honestly it’s Vegas, it kind of comes with the territory of playing a course right in the middle of the strip.

It’s funny that that the tweet points out the cost of a round, which is pretty outrageous but still not even the most expensive round in the area. Shadow Creek is 1000 a round during peak season and you have to be staying at an mgm property to get on.

This past Sunday, a man was murdered by a random attacker. How many random attacks have occurred in this city over the last year? It is absolute bullshit that we cannot legally protect ourselves from animal thugs. Not to mention criminals evading sentences for their crimes; and then ending back on the streets to repeat. I wasn't surprised when the city, last year, expressed interest in 'legalizing small amounts of drugs' i.e, meth and heroin. City life is no longer desirable when you aren't legally allowed to protect yourself from criminals who fear zero consequences for their actions, and in some cities (Vancouver), are encouraged to continue abusing drugs.
So ignoring the real messed up one we had Saturday night as I don't have the details.

There is a crime that just made me shake my head the other day. Not because of the severity, but the reporting and information that comes out. Was a store robbery I believe, but from April. Like really 3 months to get the pictures out to the public? This is has being going on for a long time and usually the response is the police don't want to tip off the criminals that they are onto them. When it's a murder or kidnapping generally what is it the first 48 hours that are the most crucial, so that people have a fresh memory? Why doesn't this apply to other potentially dangerous situations?

Too many young bucks in here. Show was Fasttimes at Ridgemont High, featuring the iconic Phoebe Cates scene. Happy 60th bday to one of my earliest crushes.
Who can also ever forget Judge Reinholds reaction!

Two amazing accomplishments yesterday by Curry and Daniella Hemsley, but can’t show the second one here. ;)
After seeing earlier pictures of her, you knew this latest "accomplishment" was only a matter of time before it occurred.

'Senseless crime spree': Edmonton police respond to multiple city-wide shootings

Multiple random shooting spree by a couple of losers. Just driving around the city and shooting at unsuspecting vehicles. More violence in "Needle City."

Yet, as a responsible gun owner, should I use my weapon in self-defense, the crown would want to prosecute me.
